They hate indians here in US as well. Now, What ???? In Nepal they are Known as "Dhoti" and/or "Khali sisi" only but, here Indians are notoriously popular for their "Bad smell" .Americans call them "Curry Munchers" and in some worst case they don't even consider them as "Asians".Some republican friends of mine go one step further and prefer to call them "Asian kaalezzz". It's fact and i feel that way that the Americans and many Europeans give much respect and sympathy towards Nepalizz than to the kale indianzz--- home of Buddha, Brave Gurkhas( fought many wars and is still fighting and aiding NATO and American troops in Iraq and Afganistan and many more-British Gurkha platoonz),World famouse mountaineers are some of the reasons why..
Those words up there may sound bitter and kind of absurd but, the point is that people call you name no matter what race or caste you are,for inatance --[Disallowed String for - castist references disallowed],[Disallowed String for - castist references disallowed],Tapari,Chyatare,Katto [Disallowed String for - castist references disallowed] u name it, and whereever you are from. It's totally upto you how to perceive it,behave and use that educated mind to deal with those old fart and Idiotz. Also,Just because some individual or a small group of old fart call you name doesn't mean that whole nation and it's people fall into the same catagory. It's not fair to hate/criticize the whole nation where you grew up and it's people for the idiotic prejudice behaviour of some people. No matter where you go, you will find someone there to disparage and criticize you. Therefore,it seems to me that your real education, whatever grade you are in right now, is still not helping you. Now, do this.Work on " what if" theory using your intellectual mind to see things in a different way since you sounds like a educated fella( i wonder what goes into the un-educated peoplez mind-if so called educated is behaving like this :)) .Anyway! Change your perception, your lens, and try to see the things with that new lens. If you can't view things with different perspectives, you will have problems even if you become or call yourself Indian from Nepali. some one will be there to find fault on your kaale RAJNIKANT look !! lol

Yesterday I met a Cardiologist, he asked me, where are you from? I said, "I am from Nepal." He said, "Wow. I am also from Nepal." I looked at this white elderly man again, and said, "You are from Nepal??" he replied, "Yes, spiritually I am. I love Nepal. I visit there every Dashain. That is my home. " Indeed, Timesquare, I know how much Indians are despised even in US..many white people have told me indirectly how they did favors to indians and they only tried to rip them off, they are always thinking about next big way to make profit out of somebody, they always have something to take advantage of in the back of the head.
White people are smart enough to figure this out, us, knowing their "back home" culture, just because our fate has us working for them have suddenly seem to start to "worship" them...I am from Nepal, and I am proud of it. I prefer hiring a Nepali any day over an Indian, and Indians too, will not hire you unless they are taking more advantage from you than there own people or when they can't find their own people.
They are not doing you a favor by giving you a job. They are exploiting your labor five times more than they would be able to with the natives....They are no angels, no matter where they go..they have the "das mentality" of oppression that the British left for them..and they practice the system of oppression very well in everything they do...!!!

If you can't talk 30 seconds to educate someone about your being a Nepali, you are just plain incompetent, inarticulate, lazy douchebag.
Maybe that's why you are a fat beast. Fat because you are lazy. Beast because you have no sense of self identity nor self worth to correct anyone who calls you somebody you are not.

paulina didi: with your account of hiring practice, i hope you don't start a business as you might get into some serious trouble with that mentality of discriminatory hiring practice esp if you are in US. If I were to hire someone I would hire an individual based on their qualification for the position that is open over nationality, regardless of where an individual is from. Yes helping one's fellow countrymen is one thing, however if you think by choosing a Nepali person over someone who is more qualified non-Nepali gives you a sense of being patriotic then that in my opinion is the most falsely perceived notion. And please don't make any assumption on Indians will do the same without any evidence, as you might know lot of young Nepalese are hired by big corporations in India to work for them.

Chaurey I am talking about mostly for gas station and restaurant business in particularly in the US...and given the same qualifications, I will hire my countryman because that is exactly what an indian or an American would do...Whenever we are in a position to help fellow Nepales we think "too smart" and go with the other person, cuz we are too afraid to help Nepalis..We must get over this mentality as well...there are lots of qulaified Nepalis in many field and regardless of the industry--if I come across an equally qualified Nepali then I will take them over Indians..I am not being a racist here..
If Indians are hiring Nepalese in big corporations in India then good for them...Nepal has also given jobs to lots of madwadi in Nepal..its time they reciprocate our generosity and not just make our brothers "bahadurs."
I wish more IT managers, business managers in corporate settings started to help hire and recruit fellows Nepalis..but not, the mentality is only I should be in the position and nepalis are better off away from me are afraid they might reach their success....
We need to learn from our indian counterparts--to do more of the "desi" favor of helping our people..thats how they hire us anyway..they help their own ppl first then others like Nepali, bangladeshi etc...We need to develop more Nepali brotherhood/sisterhood and promote and help each other personally and professionally.....
Help doesn't always mean charity of donating few bucks here and there for some charity cause.............

@ Paulinadidi, I wish you were a little more articulate in getting your point across.
I'd hire an Indian any day over a Nepali as long as he proves to be more qualified than the latter. I'd also hire any middleastern over Indian, Nepali over Kenyan or an eskimo over American based on the skill set I need most.
Speaking of 'Indians' you have come across, it seems the only people you've put in context are marwari businessmen, street hawkers from Bihar, penny pincher gas station owners, fraudulent consultants and some resent'able' gujrati Motel owners. If you were more aware, you would have spoken of Scientists in NASA, engineers in GE, Vice Presidents in Microsoft and Department heads in MIT. Pray tell, wouldn't you diversify your outlook a little more?
India has a population of over one billion people and sterotyping all Indians over a handful you have met just sounds a little too peurile for me. Agreed, they act LESS HIP than us Abercrombie clad Nepalese, speak with an embarrassing accent are a little more on the stingy end, but should these amenities put them into an evil category? Ask yourself.
Speaking of employment reciprocation, kindly do the maths once again, there is one single state in India that hosts 90% Nepalese people, remember what happened when Bhutan ferretted our Nepalese brothers? Also, These days not all Nepalese are bahadurs, I personally have friends who rake more moolah than you could imagine in Healthcare and Information Technologies in prime cities in India.
Speaking of being hired, my first job had an Indian interviwer and he (believe me or faint) chose me among the bevy of five candidates of which two were Indian. You think he is insane, I think he was ethical. That is the difference between how different individual perceive.
Again, let's revisit what you have spoken against Indians. First of all, THEY ARE NOT OBLIGED TO HIRE US, we very well know that explotation, if any, will be on any individual who work in Consulting industry, not just Nepalese. Just as they are not doing us favor by hiring us, we can choose not to work with them as well. And here is the tricky part, and let's be honest - We need them, we approach them time and again for jobs only to speak evil of them, tell me, is that mature?

paulina didi: the essence of brotherhood/sisterhood is relative, i am not going to cross my ethical boundries and hire someone who is less qualified just cause he/she is a Nepali. If a qualified Nepali walks in for a job that my company has an opening for, then certainly I will put in a good word and try to on board them as much as I can. However; if the same person is unqualified then I am not going to risk my own ass to bring them onboard and be responsible for their actions should they fail to perform. That is just unethical in my view.
Most of the Marwadi's that operate in Nepal that I know of happen to be Nepali citizen, though in your view it seems that they are not, they have been conducting business in Nepali soil for few generations now and I don't think that applies to Nepal hiring them.

behoove_me!! Well said, I agree with you 100%...I am saying I will hire a fellow Nepali given they also have equal qualifications..I will have a soft corner for Nepalis because I do believe average Nepalis are better at heart and honesty than an average Indian..!!I really don't know much about the changing indian culture and development...I know "outsourcing" and few rich industrialist have given a new height to indian economy..in that, if a few Nepalis become someone, i am not surprised!! But what ever you have said, I agree, and I am not so "shallow" as you have made me appear--it's just that I think we Nepalis in general are less likely to help our own people than indians.. Anyway, I like what you have written and I agree with you on all of these..but I will still hire my fellow nepali given he is equally competitive...cuz thats my country man...we gotta start doing these things to help each other..!!

@ Paulinadidi I'd like to refute your last comment yet again on the ground of ethics and magnanimity, but I won't. 'Guess to each his/her own.
Also, you'd written:
"........... and I am not so "shallow" as you have made me appear"
I re-read my comment once again and it seems I have read between your lines a little too much. Emotions got the best of me this time (believe me, it doesn't happen too often).
Having said that, I humbly apologize, you were only speaking from your point of view and that did not require such criticism.
Peace.
