I don't know for sure but try to open jailbreakme.com from your mobile browser and see if it jailbreaks. Works for iPhone ever since they made jailbreaking legal.

Are you currently using that HD2 with t-mobile? If so, call customer service and tell them you are going out of the country, say Nepal and want to use a local sim there. They will send u unlock code in 24 hrs free!!!!!!!!!!!

So far my understanding there is a unique unlock code for each mobile device so randomly asking for a code doesn't help unless you provide the imei and sb does the unlock code calculation for your device.
