hello guys
i was trying to buy a used car and i used craigslist to do that..i sent the owner an email and he replied back saying that he wants to do the transaction using ebays buyer protection plan. He says the car is in UK and he will ship the car to US using a military shipping plane or some shit like that. And he also said that only after i get the car then he will get the payment that i did to ebay.. the car is very neat and i really want to buy it. but do u guys think this is a real deal or someone is just trying to rip me off?

Thanks in advance

here is its vin Number: 1N4BL11D65C376012

Hope that helps!

Yes positively a fraud case. Ebay has issued warnings about this, Craiglist did too. There is good chance his ad has been flagged in craigslist already. Ebay buyer protection, western union guarantee are all hoax. Anytime a seller tells you that he needs to ship the car from overseas, walk out of the deal. Unless he shows you the car and the title don’t pay up. Buying a car from ebay is not a  bad deal, but when “shipping” from overseas is involved that should send a red flag.

Moral of the story: When it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Buying car from UK when you are in US? If you have so much money to give away, please send few dollars to some Nepalese in need rather than some fraud people around. :)

100 % scam, btw you didn't mention you are getting a 20k car for less than 5k. When I see such ad, I always flag, you do the same.

They must have said if you do not like it will take back and no fee is charged.

If you see a long email and ebay protection plan and you can not drive the car means 10000% fraud.

I guess the graduation time is best to buy car. As students are going away may tend to sell little cheaper for fast sale.

As long as takes you from point A to Point B and does not have to pay for repair keep driving it. I am targeting for 300K but the speedometer stopped working since April 2009 at 259K.

Syanjali, just curious, how would a speedometer not working affect you odometer? If the car runs, then odometer should keep track of miles despite the speedometer isnt it?
