Does anybody know how to pay the application fee in Buffalo office? Is it in US dollar or canadian dolllar?

Have you completed application process. Did you do it by yourself or through lawyer. I consulted one law firm in Canada and they said that they will charge $ 4000 for legal fees and $550 plus.

If you are in US pay them in US dollars. Sent them a draft from the bank (NO personal checks ) will be accepted. if you got confused about how much to pay it should be written side by side (in US dollars and canadian dollars). I know it was 575 for landing fee  and 325 application fee in US dollars back in old days....Do not go through lawyers. its straight forward.....No need to waste your money If you are qualiofied. The Lawyer is NOT going to expedite your immigration process anyway

 

 

I am in the process of PR right now. It's a very simple process. Download the guide from the website and collect the documents you need. Don't pay a single penny to so-called lawyer. That's not required at all.

Application fee: 550$ per person (this is the only cost you need to pay by Bank Draft or Money Order).
If you application is approved, you will have to pay $495 per person (adults) as landing fee. It is tentatively one year after your initial application.

go to your local FBI or police office and they will take your finger print  and they will sent it to their FBI lab in West Va and they will sent you a copy to you. Mentioned your local FBI office its for immigration process and it costs you 25 dollars and will take little over a month

SOmebody in Canada suggested me to sent all documents even if I am not getting FBI report. Does this work? I am almost done with all documents except FBI report. Any suggestions?

you guys seem experenced in this matter. I am living in usa for last 9 yrs, but mostly in f1 status on part time employment and you know OC kinda employment. is there a way for me to show experence? please advise... i meet the requirements but it's hard to show my experence because of my f1 status.

If you have been doing research and teaching assistantship kind of part time jobs while being a graduate student, it works

they would probably consider 2 years of assistantship equivalent to one year full time

Is it neccessary to give ILETS beforhand or can  we apply  first and submit ILETS later on? Suggestion please.

 

Abhagi Kale.....wait till your FBI report. Otherwise they will sent your document back and when you seth them back wioth FBI report your document will go to the bottom of the pile. Its useless for you to sent them without FBI report.

Kalopani.....whats your background and how much point did u get when u do a rough test on their web site. If you have more than 67 I would suggest you to gamble that 500 dollars and see. Its hard for us to tell what they require on experience wise. At the same time if you do not have enough experience the chances are they might call you for an interview. Like I said If I was and If I feel confident I will gamble

                  If I was you I will complete all your document and sent them. You have to take the test either way. That might expedite your process. When I say expedite I  mean if they have to sent your document back to you stating its incomlete then when you sent them with all your document it will go to the bottom of the pile and might take longer than expected.

It is still under the process and those who apply after Feb 27, 2008 will be assessed under the new immigration law and it is said that there is no guarantee (which was guarantee once your file was accepted and processed. Now, fu..n immigration evaluators may have discretion over whether or not to PR)

I had some hope for Canada, it also sucks man, what to do?

what I heard is Canada is applying a very smart selection process. reading on many vitual communities over canadian PR, I found some conclusions: 

• higher experience
• the field which has high job prospectus in canada: such as IT.....( not all fields)
• previously arranged job (assurance by the company...sth like that)
• community/provincial nominees

yes, at least one or more of these criteria. The bill has not come out yet but has been passed by the parliament. I collected these things from informal sources: virtual community discussions. therefore may not be exactly what I mentioned. these are speculations. Anyway, Canada is not such an easier a way as I used to think 3 or 4 months ago.
