Guys,
I have an elderly person travelling to Nepal tentatively scheduled by first week of April. The major carrier is cathey pacific and the route is from LA to HKK on Cathey and from HKK to KTM on Dragon air. There is almost twelve hour transit in HKK. This person doesnot know english at all and can not communicate in english . I will highly appreciate any one in this forum letting know if anyone has their travel schedule around this time . Although a wheel chair service is requested, accompanied by any Nepali will definately boost the moral of this elderly passenger.

Like takeiteasy said, it might be tough to find somebody to accompany your family/friend. My suggestion would be to contact the Nepalese Embassy and see if they know of anybody travelling at that time. Good luck.

Best thing to do is work it out with Cathay Pacific and DragonAir. Let them know that (i) the passenger does not speak English and (ii) the passenger requires specific assistance.
In many previous instances airlines have provided assistance to my family members in such situations. Trying to find another travelling companion is not really the right way to this.

Anamika; I do not think Nepalese Embassy will be helpful on this matter but it is okay to check.
Sincerely, none of us let the embassy know when you flying in and out so it may be worthless to check.
If you know your elderly family has to travel alone going back, you must buy a ticket that is refundable and you should be ready to buy a ticket matching to traveler air carrier.
It is not always true that people try to avoid elderly people.
