So, generally everyone does push-ups (?). I was just doing it. Couldn’t exceed 20!

How many counts should one reach to make sure that he/she can now break some noses?

it depends.  sometimes i get tired at 20, while someday i even do 60.  30-40 is normal for me though.

No boys, couldn’t get to 20 in the first try(some years back). In fact ,couldn’t even reach 2 then! But dunno what happened this morning. Maybe I was inspired with an incident that happened some days ago. Lemme share:

I was out for a night walk(alone). The road was lone. On the right side of the road were trees and on the left was the wall. I was walking in rounds, like, spinning+walking. While spinning, I didn’t realize that I had neared the wall. So my hands struck the wall and my knuckles were badly hurt. I got my reward for being creative.       And as I stood there, I noticed a guy on the other side of the road, standing aside a tree. He was never seen on our area before. He was bizarrely BLACK. So black that, if the “Blackest Thing On Earth” competition will be held, I bet he’ll take the prize. He was literally starring at me with those mammoth eyes. I got scared. He was still staring, and I ran away from there in a jet speed.

But what all options did I have!! I wasn’t carrying a gun, couldn’t fly like Jackie Chain, Never learned karate, muscles didn’t feel strong enough to let him approach me, Yeh I had long nails but then he didn’t look like the guy who could be nailed with nails!!

So, It hit my conscience that I should do/learn something. And breaking noses seemed right. And to break noses you have to do plenty of push-up!(?) So, that’ s y!

40-60 !!! what do you guys eat??????

So, 20 isn’t bad? Can I break some noses now?easily?

Gunda, 5? Ahem! Can we meet? Let me bless your nose.

No aviator...Not yet.  My opinion, Just carry a cell phone and walk in well lit areas, thats all.  BTW, what if that guy blacker than night was lost himself and maybe wanting to ask you for help.  Never assume too quickly but at the same time, safetly comes first.

What a coincidence, i just bought perfect push up package from walmart for 19 bucks and did some pushups.. it's a great toy.I definately feel like it hit the target areas of my upper body. I highly recommend now. check em out at : http://www.perfectpushup.com/

they have recommended a US navy push up drill. They say do as much as you can first to test your level. Say, you went up to 10. So make 4 repetiations of 8, 6, 4, and 2. breathe out when you push up. Say out loud the number of push up ; best way to breathe out. They also recommend doing " close push up" and " wide push up" . Close push up is where you spread your hands to the sholder distance and mostly use your triceps. and wide push up refers to the style where you spread your hands outside your shoulder level.

if your best number is 1o then you are recommened to do one set of regular push ups with 8,6,4,2 repetiation. Rest for few seconds, and do another set of the numbers with wide push ups. then again rest some time and do the 8,6,4,2 set with close push ups.

i don't know about breaking nose, but i think if  you do it from tomorrow by summer you might have a ripped upper body for maiyaasss.. so good luck dude..

US Army standard for push-ups for 17-21 years old is 60 push ups in 2 minutes. As you grow older the standard lowers. TO achieve highest score in in physical fitness, 17-21 years old need to do 71 push-ups in 2 minutes.
Army also test on sit-ups and and age 17-21 needs to perform 37 correct sit-ups in 2 minutes and to get maximum score age 17-21 needs to do 78 sit-ups in 2 minutes.
Same age group also needs to run 2 miles in 15.54 minutes and to get maximum score you need to run 2 miles in 13 minutes.
Obviously, female standards are lower.

Oh,Good morning!!

Samsara, Not yet? Then when? When!when!when!

When you get lost and someone appears near you, you don’t stare at him/her unblinkingly with mammoth eyes and scare the hell out of him/her. But rather give a sweet smile and talk to the person. He wasn’t lost, I’ll bet on that.

Dyamm, That perfectpushup could work for boys but not for me. Don’t wish to be known as lady Sylvester Stallone.

Gundaa, you’ll poke my eyes? But i always wear glasses. And 2??SmileyCentral.com  :P ,Do something man!

Hakunaku, it is one of the reasons why i would never mess with an army personnel..

BTW, my today’s count was 22. Progressing eh?

                       Have a good day people!!

22 ..... not bad infact its pretty good count for the rookie. Hey Pilot (...OOPS I mean Aviator LOL) I believe this count 22 is what you do in a single set huh? I too recently developed a fad to push-ups and I usually do three sets.... 40 being the highest in first set followed by 35 and 30 within a span of 10 min. Thats all I do as of now but I don't think I am yet ready to break some noses hehehee

I broke several noses while I was Nepal .. .       lol..
I used to do 30-40, I never exceed 45 in my life. But  I used to hit punching bags.
I think if you do some cardio excercise you can increase your stamina to do more push ups.

I bend, my ab muscle pains. I stretch, my ab muscle pains. I inhale deeply, my ab muscle pains. I exhale, my ab muscle pains. I laugh, my ab muscle pains. I sit, my ab muscle pains. I get up, my ab muscle pains.

No more push-ups!!!

I don’t want to break any noses.

I don’t want to break anything.

I don’t know how you guys manage to do 30-60 push-ups. You all are gorillas.

I am happy with my treadmill.

To hell with push-ups!

-I’m breaking the habit tonight
