Yadav warns of resumption of agitation [ 2007-2-14 ]

JANAKPURDHAM, Feb. 13: Central President of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Uprendra Yadav has said that the agitation would resume if an atmosphere for dialogue is not established within ten days.
Speaking at a meet organised by the Bideha Coordination Committee here today, Yadav emphasised on the need of declaring a Madhesh state under a federal governance system.
Stating that only an individual that speaks in Mathili and wears Mathila costume can become an administrator of Mithilanchal, he pointed out the need of maintaining the atmosphere of movement for an autonomous Madhesh or Terai.
General Secretary of the Forum, Ram Kumar Sharma accused the Government of not trying to establish an atmosphere conducive for the talks, by not meeting the demand of resignation by the Home Minister.
Meanwhile, RSS reports from Gaur: Madhesi People's Rights Forum, Rautahat presented a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the District Administration Office (DAO) calling to form a high-level probe committee to conduct investigation upon the Terai incidents.
The memorandum comprised demands including impartial investigation on the incidents that took place at Gaur and Chandranigahapur, to provide compensation and reinstate those displaced, arrange treatment and employment to the injured in course of agitation and resignation of the Home Minister.
