Deppends on what program.

Bios programming is very low lavel, you program it direct in the chip, I do not not excatly what programming language is used, But for low lavel programming I used once Assemble Programming (Very tough)

Operating systems are programmed in different languages, For example, C++, C#, Delphi and many more.
I think windows is compiled with C programming.

Others like web page and so on are in html, css, php, java, asp and so on and so forth.

But ofcourse, C programming is used for higher laver compiling program for the operating systems as well, you know it as a softwares, drivers and so on.

But there are hell of lot of program that you can program with.

Bt If you are very good with C programming, you will have no diffuliculty programming in other programming language, coz C++ and C# is bacic programming.
You'll start earning very good salary. ;)

It is mediocre. With proper System Requirement Specifications, System analysis and design, UML and any other proper development related document, there is not much to do for a programmer than keep writing the same codes again and again.

But if you are in Nepal, its not. A single guy will do the SRS, Analysis, Database and programming too!!

Programmer job is one of the best paid career for say like an entry level graduate. For some of you(exceptional people) it may look mediocre but i do not agree because you may say even a monkey can code. Is that why US has to import so many programmers from India, China and Europe? I know IT job can get boring after some time but I will still do it if paid in six figures.
