Well, after going through the posting for ages in Kurakani, i feel like adding this thread and getting views from everyone. Who is your role model ? Especially Nepali one. I know it is hard to tell sometimes, but then is there anyone Nepali that you take inspiration from. This could be from any field. Just think and reply. For myself, i am not very sure either, it is difficult. But in Nepal i used to admire CK lal's and Khagendra Sangraula's writing styles and they kind of inspired me but then i do not know much about them again..... Lets hear from you guys now.......

Do u mean Devkota translating someone's work? If so I was told he translated one of Sheakespeare's story into Nepali. OR U asking me if anyone translated Devkota's works into English, I need to find out, I am sure someone has. I was also told he wrote in English, so he might have some novels in English.

i meant the latter- devkota's works translated into english. i would imagine there has to be a collection, but don't know of any myself. of course, i haven't spent much time khojnu-ing either.... an addition to my earlier statement- any nepali who has done something to sincerely and genuinely benefit and uplift the nepali people is my role model. dreamz, ajhai sochnuparla! natra sapana maa dekhinchha. hoina ra, dreamz?

There's no two ways about it. It's got to be Ron Jeremy. Though he is not Nepali, I think we should give him the honorary citizenship of Nepal.

Hey guys i wanted to know a living model, not aged old one actually, someone in your field of interest oe something. THey need not be really really great, someone you personally inspired with There are few people i am inspired with like Ms Meera Bhattrai, who introduced and professionalized the concept of social marketing in Nepal. She created the brand 'Dhukuti' and exports millions worth of handicaft into outside world and she gives employment to thousands of poor nepali women for that. She inspires me a lot, but there could be lot better ones out there, don't you know any???

Here is my real role model, living God of never giving up!! Bhadra Bahadur appearing for the 30th time in SLC Bhadra Bahadur Biswokarma has arrived at the headquarters of mid-western district of Dailekh to appear at the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams for the record 30th time, an official news agency report said. 49-year-old Biswokarma is to take exams at Chupra examination center in the district for the 30th time beginning Sunday?thus setting a record in the whole country. According to RSS news agency, Biswokarma?a resident of Satakhani VDC-4, Maseri, in the neighbouring Surkhet district, has been teaching at a local primary school for the last 30 years. ?Though he has been involved in the teaching profession for so long, he hasn?t succeeded in the exams since his writing is quite slow,? said Jaya Raj Acharya, District Education Officer of Dailekh. Bishnu Kumar, the 18-year-old son of Bhadra Bahadur, is studying at class nine at Jana Madhyamik Vidyala in Surkhet while his another son, Keshav, is studying at class eight at another school. Interestingly, his daughter-in-law, Sita Biswokarma, had appeared for SLC exams as a regular student last year but could not succeed. Bhadra Bahadur said he had not been able to improve the speed of his writing due to his household responsibilities. ?The new SLC curriculum is too difficult,? he complained. nepalnews.com by mar 27 05
