I am planing to book a ticket for Nepal. I had applied for MRP and temporary passport. Now I have the temporary passport.
Will the passport number of MRP and temporary passport be the same? As I will be booking ticket now, I will use the temporary Passport ID. But by the time, I travel ( after one month) , I might get MRP. If the passport number is not same, I will be just donating $ to airlines. I f I wait for MRP, the ticket price may be sky high at that time.
Any suggestions? ( They do not recieve my phone nor reply my emails)

One thing for sure , your temporary passport and MRP has no same numbers. Why dont you use old passport number? After receiving MRP they will send you old one with VISA too ( there will be stamp saying this passport is not valid )

I have already got my old passport. And yes, there is a stamp saying it to be invalid. So , I assume I can't use this right? or you mean, my mrp passport number will be the same as that of old one?

I will be in Nepal for 2 weeks and thinking of applying for MRP and expedite it which will be faster ( 1 1/2 weeks, that is what I heard ). My birth place is not Kathmandu and if they send it to verify to my village it may take months.
When I expedite : are they going to send it to my village or not ?

@ nepaliketo...u sure u need passport number for booking? Last time i bought the ticket , all i needed to provide was name, date of birth and country of passport. I had bought round trip ticket, went to nepal on Old passport and came back on MRP which had new number. I dont think u have 2 worry a bit.....

Oh! You are an angel. You made my day. In fact I don't need the number. I don't know how come I was pre-coupied with the notion that I needed passport number.( कागले कान लग्यो भनेर कानै नछामी दौडने कित्ता मा परे म)

@magorkhe... I belive u r aware that u have to have the MRP application form and copy of ur citizenship certificate attested from ur District office to apply for expedited MRP, they are not gonna send that to verify to ur village once u have those attested.

Fyi, naya passport ko last page tira old travel document number pani huncha.. Incase you need it!

@nepaliketo, Same stuff happened to me as well. I applied for MRP and planning to visit Nepal next month. First I thought whether temp passport will have the same number as original and worried about it later I figured out that why would you care about PP#. All these airlines care about is whether you gotta same name in PP as in the ticket. I talked with travel agent while booking ticket and he confirmed the same . So let it be.........
