I have MBPr 15' model (2012). Go for Retina display model. Believe me it's worth it. Also go for 256GB model. Note that both RAMS and SSDs are not upgradable i.e they are soldered into the motherboard. So If you can afford go for the highest specs. 8GB ram works if you are not doing graphics works but if you are doing graphics work then it's not enough and I would say go for 16GB. Also I want to warn you that all MBPr (LG) screen suffers from "Ghost Image" effect. There is a command to check whether your display is Samsung or LG. Always go with Samsung display panel. LG has better display but it suffers for Ghost Image. You won't see it immediately after you buy it but you will ultimately see it. Good luck. There are couple of websites where you can compare your price. Amazon, Ebay, Apple, http://www.macmall.com etc. Compare the price with shipping +tax and go for the best deal. Only thing I liked about MAC is it's software stability & better trackpad. I have 4 windows laptops and 1 MBPr and I see the difference.

That unit is great for Data Processing, surfing, and multimedia presentation but if you plan to use it for AV production work ( for Photoshop, Pro Tools, FCP etc.), go with ME294LL/A if the budget permits. ME294LL/A has double the RAM and 2GB graphic card that basically does most rendering on the fly. Sorry, the unit I am wanting to sell is not the $2699 but $2199 variety and will let it go for $1899.00.

They are not authorized Apple dealer so they can sell it at any price. Generally how it works is that they collect your money and wait on delivery. Why wait? Well, if the product is EOL, the price drops like a rock and what you paid is now too much for one generation old unit. Apple is not ready to announce a newer line up of MacBook Pro so I am not sure how they will make any money. If the product is not opened (Apple's original packaging..it is unique) and is a current model, Apple will honor one year warranty. Stuhil does have 30 days return policy.

$1800 is a whole lot of money to take a chance on semi-legit site. MacBook Pros usually get refreshed in around 10-11 month cycle. We are at 6th month right now. Soon the Govt. purchases end and kids are back to school, the new line up get announced. If you are not in a hurry, wait and get it from Apple Authorized dealer not Apple direct. Or, if you walk into Apple Store, make sure you have a student ID. They generally honor neighbor's Kid's student ID as well.

Thanks. Looks like I will be paying close to 3K (video editing purpose), recommended 512 gb HD, 16 gb ram and 2 gb video card and 3 years warranty and cut pro software. What is intel Irish graphic and it does not say about the GB? Can't we have pc substitute for the same purpose ?
