Where have you been hiding bittertruth? Were you inside your golden palace all the time? Don't pretend that you don't know where our waste goes to. Have you never crossed Bishnumati river? How many wastewater treatment plants are in our country?

so far I remember, 10 years ago condition was not this miserable, 20 years ago, as a kid I used to go to bagmati river and could still see fish swimming under the rock, this deterioration of rivers in kathmandu has to do with poor waste management and over population.
And yes, metta, I don't know when you were born, but I had once seen clean river water, be it bagmati or bisnumati,
this is not something I've seen before,.. this is really terrible.

10 years ago or 20 years ago, our waste were always being dumped into our rivers by our visionary leaders. I don't know what is your measure of "miserability". Obviously things got worse, and at that time there was no mobile phone to easily capture all this. May be you're right, those days dead bodies didn't get thrown into rivers. In the name of "New Nepal", dumping of dead bodies openly into rivers have begun.

When we were kids we played in bagmati all the time while bunking school. I have to agree things are getting worse and worse in kathmandu . Literally becoming a butt hole of the world.

 btw it doesn't cost much to build two big sewage tunnels alongside river in kathmandu, and build a waste management facility at the bed of the river somewhere where there's less or no population. 
Kathmandu Metropolitian is generating lots of revenue from taxes. This is a good project to invest on the city.
