I went to the Dhoti ko pasal to get some Khasi ko masu for dasain and first of all it was too expensive $3.50 per lbs. but I still thought it was worth spending. So I bought a few pounds of meat and cooked it but it never taste like the meat from home. Believe me I am a very good cook and I love cooking so cooking khasi ko masu was not a big deal at all but I have no idea why it did not taste good.

Do you guys feel same as I did??? I am just wondering!!!

No, we did not feel the same because we did not eat the "masu" you cooked.

Aba America ko ghaans ra daana khaera hurkeko khasi, plus Nepal ma paine bhanda different breed ko. I think mostly what you get here are African goats. Also, not that I know how you prepared it, but even assuming that you used Nepal bata lyaeko masala ani used fresh ingredients such as garlic, ginger etc..khasi nai arko breed ko, tyo pani different environment ma hurkeko ani lasun pyaaj etc pani arkai breed ko parda kheri taste ma farak ta parihalcha ni. Masu pani fresh thiena hola, probably frozen for who knows how long.

It is not only the case of khasi ko masu tara aru masu ra tarkari ko pani Nepal kai jasto taste ta sadhain audaina ni jastai pakauna janne le pakaeko bhae pani, haina ra?

All that said, yeso chakhu na haami pani DR le banaeko khasi ko masu.

dhoti ko ma khasi ko masu purano bhayeko le hola.. if you are a good cook, i will invite you to cook kashi ko masu.. since we went to farm house in PA to get the khasi.. so when you will be free....then i will believe whether u are a good cook or not ??

Chipledhunga, Thank you so much. I think you are right those khasis are not as same as our nepali khasi. And I was trying to cook them with fresh masala, lasun, pyaj, adua etc.. Well, nepal bat lyayeko masala ta uhile siddhiyo tara yaha dhoti ko pasal ma ramro masala painchha .

Well, masu was taja the same day cut no doubt about that.

Wiz-kid, Of course I am a good cook, I will not mind cooking khasi ko masu at your place as long as it is khasi ko masu.

You live in PA or somewhere near? Too bad you are far.

Pasu, You are more than welcome to come and taste my cooking.

Pasu lai matrai nimto malai chahi chaina :(..jhan Dashain ma khasi ko masu khaunla bhanne katro asha thiyo..

Anyways, what brand of masala did you use?

when there is a will, there is a way... anyway i dont live in PA but in VA and any of those cases, we are too far... hope bhagye le sath diyema ta ekdin abasya bhet hola.... i like the fresh taste of lasun and aduwa and hariyo dhaniyaa.....mukh ma pani aayoo.... aba tapai ko cook ekdin try garnu parla.... bhannus hai kunai bela yeso DC ko safar garna lagnu bhyeko cha bhane..... tapai ko haat le pakayeko khana pani khaula ni hunna ra..

just let me know in advance.....

On the contrary, they could just be Christian Goats man......of course they'll taste weird.

Chipledunga, Hajur lai pani mero nimto chha. La bhannuhos kahile Aaunu hunchha!!! Usually I buy whole grain masala and grind it in my grinder. I do not like pre-grinded masalas but sometime when I do not have much time I do use them. Well, I like MDH Indian brand.

Wiz-kid, I use to live in NJ for a while but that time I have no idea about sajha. Well, time can change again. If you ever visit my state your welcome in my home.

snurp, boka ko masu ???? But it was not stinking like boka does!!! It can be true. Who knows??

It happened to me once, actually Iranian ko pasal bata kineko thie..and I had guests..hardly anyone ate it..boko pani bhimsine bokai paryo jasto cha..bessari ganaune..pakaunu aghi nai ganaune bhaeko bhae pani firta garna hunthyo..paisa ra mehenat khattam :(:(

Masala pisne katro jangar ho..Nepal batai khal ra loro lyaeko ho ki bijuli grinder ho? I do also use MDH for khasi ko masu and daal, aru kura lai chahi Pakistani Shan ray kya :)

Ani ma auna ta anytime tayar ni..yahi weekend ma aau ta?

i mean not the chopped ones, the live ones?
may be you got Boka ko masu, not khasi...
anyway, cooking khasi is not a big deal if u are cooking on a regular basis
;-)
Dashain aayo and gayo... like every year...
