I have to respond to this even if it takes away a part of my lunch time. you all may be politically aware and extremely good at 'cyber rajniti' but cmon---how do you even know this marriage has a political motive? Maybe it does, maybe it does not. It disgusts me that my so called Nepalese brethren, the label I feel so proud to represent, is so increasingly shallow.
Which nation does not have nepotism? do you think the democrats (Kennedys) and the republicans (Bushes) here do not promote nepotism? or maybe the Gandhis to our south? Does that make my colleague, who is a Kennedy and currently patiently waiting for me by the elevator , an automatic shoo-in to the next presidential race? gimme a break.
She is after all, one of our most recognized faces. Can you think of any other Nepalese (living, not dead) in the next 5 seconds who may be more recognized than her worldwide? So what if she has done some questionable things-- are you telling me you have not? Gimme a break and stop putting others to higher standards than yourself.
I dont know her other than seeing her in some of her older movies, do not care much for nepalese politics. But I am extermely proud of what she has accomplished in her proffession, and if she decides to marry someone and settle down, I will be decent enough to wish her all the best.
Oh and one more thing...take off your cynical glasses and be positive. Its a beautiful day!
Bushes , kennedies etc didn't live their most of their lives in India and came to America to be presidents. Bushes , Kennedies etc never claimed they couldn't speak English. And they won the election to become presidents not chosen by their party which manisha would be. we need leaders who work in the best interest of Nepal not India. As a Nepali i have zero trust on Koirala families. They have always worked in the best interest of Indians and whole Nepal knows it. we kicked one Gyanendra from Nepal and now there are hundred Gyanendras sucking Nepal.
jhyalincha.. 1. Somebody who can barely speak Nepali. 2. Lived most of her life outside. 3. No political, cultural and social experience of Nepal (maybe Indians) 4. Ties with Koirala
Don't get me wrong. Just like you, I'm very proud of her as an ACTRESS, that's about it. Politics? Gimme me a break. Don't compare apples to oranges. Our political system is far different than the Americans, not even remotely close. Keneddy and Bush grew up in America, speaking English, started their carrier in politics, chosen by the "popular and electoral votes" . Whether you like or not, they worked their ass to get there and the most important thing, "people" elected them through the rigorous process of the biggest democracy. You think it will happen to Manisha? We all know how things work in Nepal. As soon as she does a press release of her decision, the very next day she'll get a title, a new office and a post in the government. Alright, a bit exagerated. But that's how things work in Nepal, quite a bit different than the US. Maybe something to think about?
I think you are missing the point I am trying to make. I can talk all day about the electoral process here too and the nepotism factor, but that again would be missing the point on my part.
the title of the thread is "Manisha Koirala marrying Samrat Dahal", not " Manisha Koirala entering Nepalese Politics". I simply dont get why the thread has to digress to what we 'assume' to be her motive behind the marriage. Are you a fortune teller, or do you have a crystal ball in front of you?
Why cant we just wish her a happy marriage, then worry about lambasting her if she indeed decides to get into politics later. Who knows, she may be getting married to get away from it all (change from a Koirala to a Dahal) ? Did you even consider the alternatives?
first of all the title of the thread is "manisha koirala marrying samrat dahal"so why can;t we just stick to it...and wish her a happy married life...i can;t understand why some people are making their own assumptions about manisha entering politics through this marriage..there might not be any political motive for this marriage... ...
and my next question is what if manisha was marrying a foreigner..what would u all say? I am sure some of you would criticize her for not marrying a nepali...
and now she is marrying a nepali and some people cannot find any other reason to criticize her so they are just making assumptions about her motive...i can;t understand why some people have to criticize others no matter what they do....please let people live their life the way they want
arko question..can u post a link to a website or an article where she has said that she cannot speak Nepali...please do not criticize others just for the sake of it..also provide evidence to support your argument..
i don;t know her other than watching some of her movies...atleast some of them were pretty good...
Congrts..MANISHA & SAMRAT DAHAL... Before this happy ending ....also Manisha still carry her Nepal origins name as worldknown for this fav actress in the Bollywood scene...her star success in the Hindustan film industries been more recognised outside Nepal with an international world celebrity status and being likes by many..wht eva happen, Manisha`s still a raised diva-star, a jubilant product of silverscreen industries.
She is an amazing actress. It is probably tough as hell to do what she has done. I liked most of her movies and I am proud of her. Before you derail from topic and get after her, mind you that more than 50% of times when you introduce yourself with your southern neighbor, they'll say Country of Manisha Koirala....haven't heard anyone saying Mt Everest...
If she ever gets into politics, it is becasue of US, don't you think? I don't know wheather she'll make a good politiccal or not but we will contribute enromously to make one.
hoina yo radiohead kata gayo!! e radiohead yeso comment pam na yo crazy_boi jasta chuse sarif banna khojne haru lai. Tathya kura bhanda kheri pani k k na hero banera kurlincha.
She can go marry a toad or a boar , i don't care. we're concerned about her entering politics cuz thats how sujata entered politics. Nepal is currently run by Koiralas like it was ran by shahs a decade ago. we don't want another sujata in Nepal politics.
You guys are worried if she gets into politics not just because she can't handle .all of you guys know she has guts do it but you guys are afraid of beauty with brain . Believe it or not you guys sucks ...thinks outside the bell guys. If you not there to do anything about it stop shiting all over the place.
The social network brings its own share of troubles. In a moment of emotion and/or anger, you end up posting a status that reaches hundreds and then thousands and millions of people in minutes.
Manisha Koirala knows this. Yet last Friday she posted on her Facebook account that she is planning to get a divorce after only five months of marriage and hoped that the decision wouldn't hurt her parents.
Within a a few hours of posting that status, the actress deleted it but the message had gone out into the cyber world and then through word of mouth to everyone.
Concerned friends and well wishers kept calling to the recently-married actress what had gone wrong. Some offered advice, "Things are always bad in the first few months."
While other offered support, "whatever you decide, we are with you.
The shocker
The actress appeared happy after her marriage and had even spoke about wedded bliss after coming back from her honeymoon in Sievi, Finland.
Off and on, she'd keep posting on her social networking account about how helpful and loving her husband was. So friends were shocked at her post.
But soon thereafter, Manisha deleted her post followed but it continued to reflect her state of turmoil. The actress who has had a few traumatic relationships in the past.
Why she deleted it
Friends close to Manisha brush off the rumours. "She is very happy with Samrat (Dahal). Like most normal couples, they must have had a fight and she must have put up the post.
She's very emotional and whenever she's upset, she reveals her feelings. It's nothing serious and by now, I am sure Manya must be regretting putting up the post which is why she deleted it," says a friend Koirala, who is currently in Mumbai for a few days, says, "I am super happy (with Samrat).
I was angry when I wrote that post. Sometimes I just react and write silly things ¦ I deleted the post because I realised that it would be taken seriously."

Once she will start not getting major role than she will be doing politics. It may be a good start for Nepali congress. Old carps (rusty) out and re-vamp NC and new horizon and new leadership.
