Dear Friends one of my friends from Nepal wants to know if he can transfer 2 years worth of credit to any of the Universities in USA. He is doing his bachelors in electrical and communications and has completed 2 years of the course from Kathmandu Engineering college. Is there any way to transfer those credits to any University in USA or does he have to start from the 1st year of undergrad? Any direction or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think it depends on the individual universities on transferring credits. Some might give credit for courses while some universities may not. The best way to find out is by applying to some of them.

that depends on whether the University in the USA wanna give your friend the credit. It depends whether the classes your friend took in Nepal matches or is equivalent with the University in usa. tell him to email the university in usa. the university will ask your friend to send the original transcripts to the credit evaluation if they have doubt.

yea, it depends on university. your friend should email to college or university---- i think most of the college accept the transfer-- but he/she must do credit evaluation.

Thanks for the response amplified, JPEG and Krs_84. I was looking into this website as well "http://www.educationusa.state.gov/" would it be better to contact them about this matter. Also, would the consultancies in US have any idea about this? Thanks again

if your friend gets a visa he should just bring his transcripts and try the university that accepts transfers from within USA that way he might have a longer visa instead of 2 years.
