The truth is that Nepali movies have the most pathetic music, i guess except for Nepali rap. I would rather hear an Elephant fart.

Nepali pop is good but its nothing you can dance to. The ones you can are limited in number; not everyone can shake their stuff to a grand total of 20 songs, it will get mundane after a while.

If a Nepali girl wants to dance to Indian, Nepali, Angreji, Spanish, or any snake charming music, its her freedom. I don't think the TV channel chose the song for her, she chose it herself. Our cable TV and movie halls are infested with Hindi movies, so that would be a natural choice. You can't really preach nationalism to a 10 year old girl.

It's a dance competition but I could only see precisely two kinds of dance in this show: Nepali traditional and dhoti ko chatak. Is the latter even a dance form?? I don't have a problem with them performing in foreign language songs; but for god sake, at least perform a legitimate dance form like jazz, ballet, hiphop, contemporary so on and so forth. Even if u perform in a Hindi song, at least perform in a proper Indian dance form like kathak and bharatnatyam. It's not just about the use of hindi songs. Barring the traditional nepali dances, the performances in most Nepali film songs are also in the form of dhoti ko chatak which is not even a dance form.....ridiculous!!!

All these arguments and insights definitely mean that our entertainment industry needs to come up with better creations and expose their audiences not only to Bollywood music but to world music of all sorts .. different genres, its their responsibility too. Also Music is Universal, I wouldn't say I would love country X if I like their music, choice of music and patriotism are two different things. We love our music and dance but that doesn't mean we should like it even if its a crap, thats extremist!
I think we should rather fight with the politicians and the system for not doing the right things. Do you guys even know or try to know whats going on in our country???
