I have a question. If you are a day behind in your credit card payment( eg due date was aug 10 and you paid on aug 11 morning) , how will it affect you?

Credit card company will charge yo late fee. Call and ask them to give you credit. They will give you the credit. I did the same thing - they charged me $39 late fee- call them and got credit of $39 in next statement.

Yes you will end up paying late payment charge because Banks are not there to understand our problems. They are there loot customers like you and me and pay hefty bonuses to their staffs. If anything goes wrong and they go bankrupt they ask government to bail it out with taxpayers' money ..simple.. My suggestion is, life is better without credit cards if you have one already just cancel it you will save hefty money by doing so.

Georgian_Sa...Ji , may be life is better for you without CC. And a single person doesn't represent many others. It just depends how you handle all those money and cards, So its personal choice, except in few cases where individual have no choice other than swipe all you have. I have more than 25 reveolving CC acoounts and I have never been late in my payments, except in two instances where i forget once, and the second time I was out of access to internet. But I never paid late fees. I know the bank is there to make all the money they want, but believe me sometimes u just have to find a way to talk to them. Infact, I finished my studies becoz of CC. Mr Bond 007, call bank, tell them that u were busy with ur work and college and totally forget to make the payments, also tell them u did make the payments but missed by the day. If this is your first time, they will credit back to you. Also, if u repeat this in the future, they won't and also ur credit score will go down as they report this to credit agencies every 3 months.

As far as I know late payment will effect your credit score rather than over limit and also you will charged over time fee.

@dirt in my eye -- Actually I had more than that. I cancelled few of those. And I am not a big shot or some flithy rich. I just work and a very normal simple guy. Let me tell u why I have all those CCs. While I first came to america, I used to see all my roomies (seniors) with full of CCs on their wallet. Then I alwys wished I want to have the same. SO i Kept collecting. Then I realized its not worth it. SO i guess by the time I relaized I had almost over ten. Then real america showed me the way. I had to pay all the xpenses of colleges and othet stuffs. But I never laid my Credit score down. SO what I used to do is get new CC with zero % promotional APR for 12 month sor even 6 months and in some instances 15 months and swipe till all I can. Then when it is about to expire my promotional rate. get another one with zero promotional and pay the first one. Well in fe cases I had to pay transfer fee but its worth it than paying interset rate of 13 % on balance over 10,000. and now i don't want to cancel that becuase it will efefect my credit score. One of the factor credit score depnds is total credit limits for all CCs divided by total balnace on all CCs. SO if u cancel any CC, your total limit will go down and so does your score. Well I only use 1 or 2 , so i can only keep track on my CCs. Its been over 3, 4 years I haven't use my 20 cards and I even don't know where they are or whats their balance. However, I check my credit score once a year for free and see all my credir cards info and their balance just in case someone is missuing them. And I don't know how many banks are there. But I have CCs uoto four from same bank (citi). On eof them is a store cc issued by bank.
