Go to jackson heights and visist BHUTALA, that store would most likely have Janai for you!

Thanx Khalisisi....But I needed that wraps around your wrist like in Nepal in most of the temples.

You can get them from any indian stores, I guess. But they are not current, I mean, "चोखा जनै र रक्षाबन्धन जुन जनै पुर्णिमा को दिन बिशेष मन्त्रोच्चारण द्वारा पूजापाठ गरी प्रयोगमा ल्याइन्छ" and you can make wrap (in yr language) or 'रक्षाबन्धन' from the same string you use for 'janai'. Most 'janai' are easily detachable and they are made up of one single string.

Best place is Nepal, i think it would be worth of cause and seems like you are very serious about it...you cld help out some mandirs also
