English translation by Japoo looks better than Nepali because of some rarely used words like Aachal and Akhanda. National Anthem should be easy to understand. However, once it comes into practice, these words will be of common practices within a few years time.

आंचल: Series, lines, beautiful covers (aachal being a beautiful dress) --- I may be wrong in this!

i agree that the new anthem does 'taste' a bit diffirent. this might be emanating from us being so 'brainwashed' by the old one for so long previously. like you said, with passage of time, the new anthem will come easy on our toungs. will need to do some 'reconditioning' i guess.

“anchal” means region ???????
“anchal” literally means a veil that a woman wears. However, metaphorically speaking, it is a “border” ???????
"anchal" meaning land of woods????????
"anchal" in Sanskrit means "mountain" ?????????

Finally a new national anthem. I find it zillion times better than the sycophantic one it is destined to replace for good.

Let's hope they get the music arrangements and melody to this Nepali national anthem just right for the Nepali ear!

Reasons:

1) What Happens to the feeling of those who are beyond Mechi and Mahakali Border though they are proud to say they are Nepali .

Instead of this Mechi Mahakali i love the words like " Vishowko Kuna kapcha ma khoja tyaha singo nepal hunchha" from old nepali national song.

2) Why do we need to use the word like agragami in this song becoz its just polular word that we used in the "andolan part 2" ?

Instead i love the word " Hati hoina dati ladne nepali ko baaani hunchha..." see how simple and understanding for small kid to the matured old man.

I believe that this song is not the one we have
" Hati hoina dati ladne nepali ko baani hunchhha"
" Kahile najhukne shir utheko swabhimani nepali huncha"
"Vishwa ko kuna kapcha ma tyaha singo nepal hunchha
tyahe mero bhumi hunchha" ( changed myself from raja rani to bhumi)

or we can manipulate some of the words
i don't think that song is that bad for us.

It does not mean that the new national anthem is bad. I appreciate the song written by Mr. RAI. He did the great job and selected for being a national anthem writer. Congratulation.

Well the recent agenda Mr. Prachanda put forward to indian counter parts for the reviewing of the 1950 treaty was not bad. But do you thing once this song is approved there will be any room that we can accomodate those people living in kumau and gadwal ? Obviously they are beyond the mechi mahakali..

You know I don't know how this anthem plays out. But the cleverest Ranas did the right way. To write an anthem you need to know beforehand the lyrics. You can have a lyrics that warms up your passion, that goes well to your ears and makes your aware that the national anthem is being played. Then you can write the word on top of it.

Now we have poet, we need to form a lyrics for the poet and ask him to rewrite his song. I'm sure the result won't be that bad!

I don't want to criticize this new anthem but I'm not very pleased with the words. As some of us has already mentioned before, it is not as passionate as "Hati Hoina Dati ladne". I think the national anthem should create the goosebumps and also "heat the blood" so to say and this doesn't seem like one.

Hati Hoina dati ladne was a national song that created goosebumps for the wrong reason, namely brainwashing of the Nepali people.

The Royals brainwashed the Nepalis through books like Mahendra Mala every year where we'd have to study how the King is a incarnation of lord vishnu. They brainwashed us everyday having to sing songs of their praise everyday in the National Anthem Shreeman gambhir.

Songs like "hati haina dati ladne" added to the brainwashing by creating a sense of pride and devotion to the King and Queen. Oh Shreepech ko nawai ranga danfe chari ley bokera udcha... -- how great is that the Shreepech is the almighty, respect it and love it..
"nepali ko mutu ma khoja tyeha raja rani huncha" .. they invaded the hearts and minds of unsuspecting Nepalis by their brainwashing propaganda.

Don't fall for it. And if you've fallen for it, get outta there.

Hope i get a chance to hear the new national anthem in the future and if possible sing. i have never heard or sing Nepali national anthem yet in my life.
as long as we are not praising Kings but praising Nepal & Nepalese is a sweet.........

I agree that the words of this national anthem with"mechi and makhali" should be avoided. I don't think any other national anthem fixes a countries boundary like that.

We should try to incorporate all persons who have a claim of being a Nepali.

i remember in one nepali film which i forgot the title there was this song which goes like this "nepali nepali hami nepali.............."
i thought that was nepal national anthem at first and actually it was cool and really sounds good.
why can't we choose this song as our national anthem?

Well I think it's really bad to have a national anthem fixing boundry of ours......... We shouldn't fix the boundry of nepalese...........There are lots of nepalese people out there.. who ain't fixed in that boundry......

there is one word ज्ञानभुमी (sounds like gyanendra bhumi)
it should be नेपालभुमी

Sarbhabhaum bhai failiyeka hami biswabhari.

andolankarika ragatle swatantra ra atal.

राजा ज्ञानेन्द्र शाहको प्रशंसामा आफ्ना शब्द खर्च गरेका रचनाकारलाइ राष्ट्रिय गानको रचनाकारको रुपमा स्विकार गर्ने या नगर्ने भन्ने विषयमा ठुलै विवाद पनिशुरु भएको छ । हिजो पनि सञ्चारमाध्ययहरु माइलामय नै थियो अनी आज पनि । फरक यत्ति हो हिजो उनको प्रशंसामा समाचार आएका थिए भने आज आलोचनामा । आलोचनाको रफ्तार हेर्दा अब माइलाको साटो हरिहर तिमल्सिना वा रामप्रसाद ज्ञवालीमध्ये कुनै एकको राष्ट्रिय गान चयन हुने सम्भावना बढेको छ । विचरा माइला हिजो बेलुका सुत्दा खुसिले निन्द्रा लागेको थिएन होला तर, एकै दिनमा फेरी चिन्ताले निन्द्रा नलाग्ने भयो ।
यसैविषयमा आज सगरमाथा एफएमले निक्कै राम्रो प्रस्तुती गर्‍यो । आठ वजे प्रशारण हुने आजको कुरामा राष्ट्रिय गान चयन कार्यदलका सदस्यहरुको साथै झण्डै राष्ट्रिय गानका रचनाकार बन्ने शौभाग्य पाएका माइलालाइ समेत प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो । विचरा माइलासंग आरोपको खण्डन गर्ने कुनै आधार नै रहेनछ । उनले आफुले यस विषयमा आत्माआलोचना गर्ने बताए । उनले भने ‘त्यो बेलामा राजा निरंकुश हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने आधार थिएन । नेताहरुले पनि त सम्मान ब्यक्त गरेका थिए । मलाइ यसप्रति आत्मग्लानी भने छ ।’ विचरा ओखलढुंगे राइ परिवारका सदस्य राष्ट्रिय गानका रचनाकार हुनवाट वन्चित हुने पक्का भएको छ ।
कार्यदलका सदस्य श्रवण मुकारुङ्गले उल्टो उनको प्रतिवाद गर्दै जनजातिको लोकतान्त्रिक आन्दोलनमा महत्वपुर्ण भुमिका रहेको दावि गर्दै ब्याकुल माइलाको पक्षमा बोलेका थिए । सायद माइला राइ भएकाले होला उनलाइ जनजातिको आन्दोलनमा जोड्न खोजिएको छ । कार्यक्रम सञ्चालकले गोरेबहादुर खपाङ्गसिंग जोडेर प्रश्न गरे’अब के खपाङ्गहिरु पनि चोखिए त - भन्ने प्रश्नमा उनले भने दुबैविच समानता हुनै सक्दैन ।
कार्दलका सदस्य हरिगोविन्द लुइटेलले दिनभर यसै विषयको चर्चामा ब्यस्त रहेको बताउंदै’रचना र रचनाकार लोकतन्त्रको पक्षमा हुनुपर्ने’ समितिको प्रावधान रहेको बताएर यस विषयमा पुनर्विचार हुनपर्नेमा जोड दिएका थिए । समितिका सदस्यहरुले सो कृति पढ्न नपाएकाले गल्ति भएको लुइटेलले बताएका थिए ।
उता ९ ः१५ मा सगरमाथा एफएममा आउने अर्को एक कार्यक्रममा कार्यदलका सदस्य तथा चर्चित लोकतान्त्रिक गायक रामेशले आफुले हिजो बेलुका ११ वजेदेखी विहानसम्म करिव ७० वटा फोन उठाउनुपरेको बताउंदै आफ्नो कमजोरीका लागि सबैसंग माफि मागे । हामी हाम्रो गल्तिप्रति जनतासंग माफि माग्र्र्छौ । उनले यस विषयमा कार्यदलले पुनर्विचार गर्ने बताए । उनले ब्याकुलको विषयमा कार्यदलले अध्ययन गर्दा उनले लोकतान्त्रिक आन्दोलनमा सहभागि भएको फोटो पेश गरेको तर सो पुस्तकको विषयमा केही उल्लेख नगरेको बताए ।
मेरो विचारमा सबैभन्दा ठुलो गल्ति कार्यदलले नै गरेको छ । विज्ञापन गरेर राष्ट्रिय गान माग्नसक्नेले राष्ट्रिय गान छानिएको तीन ब्यक्तिको विषयमा जानकारीका लागि सर्वसाधारणलाइ आग्रह गर्नसक्दैनथ्यो र । यसमा माइलाको दोष छ जस्तो लागेन । युगयुग बज्ने राष्ट्रिय गानको रचनाकार बन्न कस्लाइ मन लाग्दैन र । यदी माइलाको गान ने ठिक थियो भनेपनि उनको ब्यक्तित्वको विषयमा जानकारी लिएको भए आज यसरी राष्ट्रिय गानका रचनाकारका रुपमा झण्डै पुजिएका माइलाको विषयमा विवाद त हुने थिएन । यसको लागि पुर्णरुपमा दोषि राष्ट्रिय गान छान्ने कार्यदल रहेको छ ।
