Well, I have query on master degree in Los Angeles. Some of the nepalese over there have suggested me not to come over Los Angeles coz its very expensive to live and study for nepali students. Well, I have applied to CSU Northridge and in dilemma whether to move there or not. Well, I am transferring as a computer science master degree with a hope of better prospect of internship in future.
Can you tell me if it is okay to shift to LA for master student? Is it really so hard to work and study? Well, my only intention is to get a job an study will go on... What about off campus job in LA... I heard computer science student really make money over there...
I just wanted to be sure if one can afford 1 year of study at LA. Well, I am planning to transfer to LA but very reluctant to make a move hearing from the people over there.

And one more thing if any F1 master student can drop a semester or take just a course in a semester.

Well, I don't see any problem for you to come to LA. Yes, it is little expensive, but still you have premium in terms of being in big city and possibility of getting jobs, too. I ahve no idea about CSU, as I am UC student, but CSU Northridge must be a better place.
So far as I know, you can not drop semester, except summer. You have to be full time student all the time to maintiain your status. Good luck.

What if I run out of money for a semester? Do they deport me only for the reason that I cannot pay the tution? Anyway, I have to certainly try hard to give continuity to my education and maintain instatus.
Well, how do the student support themselves when they do not have work permission from the university?
I am new to US and know little about the education system here. Always the discussion ends to deportation in case of any problem.

You could get under the table job and support yourself.If you get caught then you will be deported but it does not happen that often. If you miss one semester you could get out of status. You could show some medical reason to skip a semester. Financial situation is not valid reason to skip a semester.

Well, I have applied at CSU Nortridge. But not sure if I will be transferring. I am still unable to setup my mind that I have come here for study. Anyway, I already applied at CSUN hoping for better internship in summer.

btw, someone know anything about maharshi university of management. They offer MS too.

maharshi university of management is in iowa and is a remote village, i heard.

Most of the people graduating from Maharishi university get hired by Microsoft. So it's a good deal.

If any of you guys are interested going to Iowa I could get some info on which university to go to.
