I have gotten a due date for open enrollment this Friday. When I check the plan provided my employer (I am working on W2 hourly), Its way expensive if I add my spouse. Its $192/paycheck (bi-weekly) for employee only and $507 if I add spouse. That is also just a basic as I need to pay extra for dental and vision. So, I was thinking of buying insurance from outside if its possible at least for my spouse. Do you guys have any idea? How you guys are buying insurance? We are permanent resident of States.

Ujl, Are you referring to healthcare.gov? I was not able to enroll there because of my earning. I think you will get qualified only when your income is ~60K/yr or less (forgot the exact no). If you are referring to something different, do you mind sharing the link?

Yeah - I was referring to healthcare.gov. I guess you have to do some online research and compare prices from different companies and find the best option that fits your budget.

compare plans at healthsherpa.com the rate you get is based on income, zipcode, smoker/non smoker and your age (you and your spouse) . Thus you can shop plans anonymously with those data. Based on that you either get subsidy from govt in the form of tax premium credit or not. If you do not then buying directly from provider and healthcare.gov is same The deadline is tomorrow act fast.
