Could you please suggest me some free software or the procedure to reduce the size of storage capacity of files? For example scanning documents or photos usually have bigger size, how to make it smaller without not much pronounced adverse effect on resolution? Thanks...

You can always use photoshop when scanning and save it in lower file size. Or if you don't have photoshop, I would recommend using GOOGLE PICASA to reduce file size of photos - it is very easy and reduces very efficiently.

Look for a software called Irfan View, it will let you resize all files, either by % or by ratio. It installs in minutes and has minimal footprint. Resizing is under one of the advanced options.

Go to>Start> Run> Then type: Reduce x y% where x is the path of the file. and, y is the percentage you want to reduce the size by. Enjoy!
