For the International students at Cameron University, Lawton; The international student advisor serves good for INS . I do not think there will be INS in Lawton area. I am not sure about Edmond, Oklahoma city and other area. I am not sure that if they find us working , they will leave us as two of our friends have recently been deported. Its always good to take caution before we face the real trouble.

It is true that one girl from UCO has arrested by Sheriff yesterday.

not having work permit to work off-campus.

i don't know if she was only the one. but it's also true that she worked on campus.
i really don't know if it is just a threat, but immigration portrait law was passed yesterday, the news on the most of new paper.
i guess INS is quite active with mexican working using there ssno..
i don't have any further information..

What I have heard is the Oklahoma Board Regents for Higher Education is taking the situation of International students working off-campus seriously. Five mexicans have been arrested from Altus, Oklahoma (a small place ) and there are rumours on Mexicans that they have to fled to Texas soon. How ever these Mexicans have been caught by the INS official who were searching for students working illegally. Its a best way to apply for work-permits or to transfer to some big cities where we can work in the places like sonic, dennys , ihop as a cook so that no one sees us.
