dear all namaskar. im a certified charter accountant in britain and also do have bachelor degree (BBS) from TU and have similar bachelors degree from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Im much interested to work in USa having H1 stamp. can anybody tell me about the intial procedure of getting H1 and its eligibility im 25 years old and also want to do mba frm american uni like indiana university. I came to know frm some sources that people do get H1 by different doddgy techniques like getting bogus job offer or just having mere offer rather than geniune one. is there any good lawyer u people know abt? so that he can assist in getting such a work permit in states. or any body do have some idea abt this. plz let me know abt it. thank u. suman koirala london

If you want to do MBA first, then apply for university, get I20 and Apply for F1 Visa. then after completion, find a job and apply for H1. If you want to come to the USA on H1B Visa (speciality occupation), find a job for yourself. Search it online, use Job Search Sites or any other sites or recruiting companies. I don't suggest Indian Recruiters. If you find a job in a good company, thats it. Your employer will process your petition for H1B. The company will find lawyer for you, will pay for the fees and everything else. don't go behind bugus job offers. And be clear, A lawyer cant get you any work permit .... only your employer can. so find a job first. Hope this helped.

Accounting field in the USA is HOT right now..I went to many interviews couple of months ago I met people coming from South Africa & India for INterviews , all cost paid by employer, they had their respective CA designation from their country..in your case it's even better cauz u have CA from UK ..I suggest u to try with BIG 4 especailly Deloitte & KPMG, they r more likely to invite u ..go to their website and apply..August till September is "the season" for maximum hiring..Try for NY & NJ offices...not INDIANA.. Good Luck..

Suman, anthony has already give you suggestion appropriate for your field. To answer in general, any one with education of at least equivalent to US Bachelor's degree is eligible for H1B visa. Follow the suggestions from anthony ... go to the company's web-site and apply for the job. It will take some time .... in your case minimum wait-time is 18 months. Because, this years regular H1B quota is already over. If you don't know how exactly H1b works, read other threads in Sajha and do some googling. All the best.
