but kt, u have been his good fren for 6 yrs. that means if he had also loved you, then he would have proposed you already, so it is more likely that he will kind of get shocked when you say that you love him, and also it will be difficult for him to answer you,, to say yes.. that he doesnt.. to say no.. that you will be hurt.. and also u cant behave with him as before after that..

when it comes to marriage..u'll know by then what kind of person u're with and all the nitty gritty details. it's true that some might be still strict and closed minded..even if they are born and raised in US..but some are more open minded and nice too. I have seen both sides....some ppl are open minded and even the parents and families have learned to be open minded and some guys just play around with girls and then go back home and marry coz their parents want it that way. After several relationships with non-Nepali girls in the last five years ...seriously I would NOT go for non-Nepali girls..anymore.

Initially it'll always be a blast (due to the difference of culture and ways of thinking) but in a long term it wears me down. The matter of cultural compatibility becomes a major issue and I would not want to spend rest of my life trying to make her understand how and why I feel differently about the same thing.
