Any suggestions on which airlines to take to go to Nepal from the US? Now I heard one needs a transit visa for HKG also, Does this still make sense to go to Nepal Via HongKong? Anyone know how expensive are the atlantic routes. Please feel free to shed some light on my ignorance here, friends. Thanks

You better try direct flight to Bangkok from NY. You can fly via HK, but you have to take transit Visa for this. Try Peace Land Travel Agent, Baltimore MD.

If what they say about Hong Kong now requiring transit visa for Nepali Citizens is true, I think the best airline to use is Thai Airways. They have recently started a New York to Bangkok non-stop route, re. Los Angeles to Bangkok ta pahiley pani thiyo. But I am not sure how it works out at Bangkok, one might have to stay overnight there to catch the next flight to Kathmandu. Does Bangkok airport have facilities (like at Singapore Airport) where you can catch fast Zzzz's within the transit area? I wonder when and if Singapore Airlines is re-starting their service to Kathmandu.
