Does anybody know the recipe for Newari Jhol Momo Achar? The kind that you get in Kamalachi (coupon momo) and Ranjana. Just the achar recipe. Momo meat recipe not required.
Please help. Thank you.

if its the same acahar we are talking of which we get in most of the traditional newari momo pasal: do everything as usual: onions , all the masalas, can / fresh tomato cook them together like we usually do to make golveda ko achar...then grind it in mixture with cilantro... Then u can add bhatmas and mix it in mixture to make it like traditional momo soup..but its hard job..fry the bhatmas take the cover out..thts gonna take a long time...so u can instead use teel or sunflower seed...wont be as good as with bhatmas but still testy... Hope it helps

thank you dharanstar...ma teti saro expert pani chhaina hai momo ma....amrika aayera nai dadu panue samateko ho...trial and error bata nai sikeko ho......... saathi i havent had coupon momo but if your talking about golveda ko jhol achar here it is: boil tomatoes (roma) until hey are cooked take a pan/skillet..put some oil, finely chop ginger and garlic and fry, add some onions and fry, add some green chillies and fry them as well. add some garam masala (not too much coz that will take away the taste of tomatoes in jhol achar). of course add some salt. you coul add some timmur(szechuan peppe) or marich (peppercorns) to make the sauce zesty. however these are optional. take all thos fried ingredients and add some chopped cilantro to it. now put the boiled tomatoes and the mixture in mixture grinder and there you have it! thats my version of jhol char

Kaji Saheb,
Did you ever figure out badam jhol achar? In your other thread, you were asking about it.
I think what I'm looking for is similar to what your looking for. I'm looking for Bhatmas Jhol Achar and you are looking for Badam Jhol Achar. I think they are similar. Please let me know if you find the recipe.

Before you bring a pitchfork, just read my name.

Anup's Kitchen, Yes, I think that's the one I'm looking for. I'll try it asap. Also, your recipe doesn't have cilantro. I always thought, for some reason, that recipe had cilantro in it. Anyway, thanks a lot.

Power_Ranger bro, Cilantro can be put for dressing on top. But if you grind the cilantro then the soup will have the taste of cilantro that will cut off the taste of the bhatmas and til and we don't want that. So, I prefer not putting it.
