It is better for them to talk about Iraq. For them all the countries outside USA, Mexico and Canada are either Great Britain (mind you..not england or anything..it is Great Britain) or Iraq, Pakistan, China, India, Nepal (for them all are one and the same).

Is there any way to report abc channel about this misunderstanding on country names.
Or, lets sue this damn channel together for broadcasting such a non-sense video. All rubish....

I understand Hadley didn't know about Tibet & Nepal, but how in the world the host, everywhere on ABC, didn't correct him. What a journalism.................. God less America

My opinion is a mixed one on this one. It reminds me of the
"ukhaan" "na jaane gau ko bato nai no sodhnu" which , for instance, may
apply for an American working in the coal mines of West Virginia. But
as senior govt. official this guy should have done a quick research on
the country of China and Nepal, where they are located on the globe and
how the question of Olympic boycott stemmed from in the first place.
His confusion of "Nepal" for "Tibet" may be because of the fact that
the latter is not even a country and Nepal shares its northern borders
with China. Bush advisers are as incompetent as himself. This chap
just inducted himself in the Bush Admin. Hall of Shame if such a thing
exists. The other failures are: Rumsfeld, Cheney, Ashcroft etc. BTW,
a distinguished guy like George Stephanopoulous should be working for
more esteemed channels like CNN or BBC and not for a lying bunch like
ABC or Fox. Why he did not correct Hadley? It is not appropriate to
correct a senior official. But all this time George was trying to
elicit out of Hadley's mouth whether or not Bush will be attending the
opening ceremony which the adviser was dodging. And mind you, when on
air they are on time pressure to cover the most urgent and the most
important issues and topics only.

I think US must have got distrubed by recent MAOIST win in Nepal and they would have had intense meeting on this issue....and perhaps they might have sensed sth.." Maoist in nepal, tibet and china" ...or whatever i m just guessing...So in his mind, now it is all Nepal and not the Tibet. I do not think he can be such ignorant ...but who knows....

Let me ask a question to all of you; Do you know which zone Dola-kha district or Argakhachi district is located in Nepal? I am sure fewer than 1% of you can answer that correctly. But if I ask you which zone Kathmandu is located in then almost 100% of you can answer that correctly. So why is it that most people know the location of a particular place but maximum of them do not know the location of a another given place. The answer to that any place or country is widely known to people in general if that particular place has a direct significance to your life. If it is not relevant that place is as good as non-existent to that person. We know: Kathmandu for being the Capital of our country, Japan for the electronics and cars, US for job or education etc We do not know Dola-kha or Argakhanchi because most of you do not interact with anything associated with those places. LOL! If there is a afternoon news reporting that (let's say hypothetically), a massive landslide has covered the entire country of Lesotho, then your first question probably would be "Is there really a country with that name?" Therefore, I am not surprised when an American does not know where/what Nepal is. If I were you, I would better get used to it.
