Hello everybody,
This week I had send some stuffs in Nepal through usa's postal service to nepal's address.I paid like 40 dollars here and in Nepal too the employee of Nepal's post office demanded more than 10,000 nrs to my receipient.Balla balla kura 5000 ma milyo,They said its illegal to send camera,mobile or any electronics there.I don't know why its illegal to send single camera or mobile as a gift to ur dear ones.Yaha usa ma pani gift bhanepachhi tax lagdaina bhane why in Nepal.They threatened my receiver that if they don't get their demanded money they will send it back to me.When my receipinet told them to send it back,they want more money to send it back too.they charge 4000 nrs for cell phone and 800 for cell phone,50 rs for chocolates and 25 rs for post card eventually and they made receipt of 500 nrs only by taking 5000.
I can publish the receipt of those things in few days when i get that one...
What u guys say to this.This is only one example of so many bribers in Neal,the situation seem not to be better,
LET THIS VOICE SHOULD BE RISEN TO THE AUTHORITY....

Consider yourslef lucky that your recipient at least got his stuff...When I first got here nearly a decade ago, I sent t-shirts, a few chocolates, etc. back home which apparantly never made it home. The parcel trail ended at the Ktm GPO. These post office karmacharis are not only ghoos-khors but also maha chors. We are still in a time warp it seems...A New government and a New Nepal but the Same sarkari jaagir officials still stuck to their Old habits.

You should have known better tha to trust the Post Office of Nepal.
Courrier Services are a lot better cause you can insure.
Do you know that US postal service will not insure pacakages to Nepal ? he he
Opening other people's packages, stealing their pacakages is actually comended by Post Offcie of Nepal(So all the Hakims and peune's get their cut of the pie). he he

Did you mean, you sent a camera using USPS?
If No then follwwoing may not be appropriate commet for you.

If yes,
Then you went against the Prohibitions of USPS on the first place.
Please read this USPS page

Camera is listed as prohibited item to send to nepal. And if you send any other valuable articles you should have filled the custom declaretion form, even if that was a gift.

When you sent something without declaring the items you sent and against the rules, thent here is nothing you can complain about.

yedi camera nai pathauna napaune rules ho bhane I am ignorant,I agree and I am lucky 5000 ns ma mero chhej ta pugyo ....
But see this in other way too,about bribers karmachariharu,why they have to threaten my receipient that I have done unlawful act in first hand and then on other hand they release the items when they got money and again they made the receipt of 500 rs only.The rest of the money in their pocket....This is really ridiculous man.....I would like to see the postal rules and act of smplyees ther to be transparent so that other people like me may get benfit by not using nepa's govtmt postal service.......!

I wasn't writing anything against you. We all know how governemnt agencies work in Nepal, Post Office is only a name to pick. Its the "democratic procedure" in nepal to bargain on bribes.

Use reliable services from next time to avoid such hassels. I think for $40 you paid here you could have sent using other postal services which doesn't go through GPO in Nepal.

Yeah man,Ths is not the talking of only one govtmt office of Nepal,This is the tradition of all govetmt offices of Nepal and the Govtmt itself.Jun jogi aaye pani kaan chireka bhaneko jasto jasko sarkar aayapani,rules regulations aauchha but practically chaldaina,yesko birodh ma hamri haru pani 1 din Nepal bandh garne ki...?But sathiharu yo sochau ki sajha.com nai bandh garda kaso hola yesai bhayena usai bhayena,nepal ko ijjat yesari nai rakhnuparlajasto chha ........
