KARMA SHERPA ON SA RE GA MA

The singer is Karma Sherpa from sonada who has been singing in Sa Re Ga Ma in Kolkata and has reached the top five.
The show is telecast on Z bangla ,though I am not sure on which days.The judges feature the renowned Gazal singer Talat Aziz among other eminent Bengali singers.

During one of the stages of the competition, one of the Bengali judges asked him to sing a Bengali song much to the chagrin of his supporters. But then I believe he sang so beautifully, that that particular judge awarded him 10 full marks while Talat Aziz gave him 9.Thus he outshone all other Bengali participants in singing a Bengali song.

Recently on the 25th June 2007, a ceremony was organized by the GNLF MLA Sh Pranay Rai in chowrashta to show solidarity and support for Prashant Tamang and Karma Sherpa- the two jewels of Darjeeling. While Karma Sherpa had come down from Kolkata for the ceremony, Prashant Tamang was represented by his sister Archana Tamang.

A big box was also taken around where money was collected from the huge gathering which was to be used for sending SMS to both Prashant and Karma. Pranay Rai started the collection process by donating Rs 10,000/- .Various organizations , associations and individuals feverently donated to the cause and the total money collected was just under forty grand.

In the end Karma entertained the huge gathering by belting out five hindi numbers including Ya Ali.

Gopal yonjan, Narayan gopal, Nabin vatrai haru ko geet darjeeling tira sundaina ki ke ho achel.
I had never heard the song the guy sang here above. However, it was ok.
