This anouncement is only going to benefit those who are seeking to get EAD based upon pending I-485. Now, it will be interesting to see how USCIS will be able handle tens of thousands of applications that will be filed from tomorrow, only making adjudication of I-485 further backlogged. It is just a change from scnerio "you can't file yet" to "please file, we will take forever to approve". Have you guys checked the updated processing times that are posted today? I-485 adjucating time has gone backward by a month from last update. Well....I guess we all have to wait over a year to get the I-485 approved and that is if you are lucky enough to not get stuck on Namecheck. Good luck to all who are filing in July :-)

USCIS will accept employment based applications to adjust status under the July Visa Bulletin until August 17, 2007. The new fee schedule will not apply to these filings.

July 17, 2007 Contact: Office of Communications 202-272-1200 USCIS Update USCIS Announces Revised Processing Procedures for Adjustment of Status Applications WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that, beginning immediately, it will accept employment-based applications to adjust status (Form I-485) filed by aliens whose priority dates are current under the July Visa Bulletin, No. 107.USCIS will accept applications filed not later than August 17, 2007. On July 2, 2007, USCIS announced that it would not accept any additional employment-based applications to adjust status. USCIS made that announcement after receiving an update from the Department of State that it would not authorize any additional employment-based visa numbers for this fiscal year. After consulting with USCIS, the Department of State has advised that Bulletin #107 (dated June 12) should be relied upon as the current July Visa Bulletin for purposes of determining employment visa number availability, and that Visa Bulletin #108 (dated July 2) has been withdrawn. “The public reaction to the July 2 announcement made it clear that the federal government’s management of this process needs further review,†said Emilio Gonzalez, USCIS Director. “I am committed to working with Congress and the State Department to implement a more efficient system in line with public expectations.†USCIS’s announcement today allows anyone who was eligible to apply under Visa Bulletin No. 107 a full month’s time to do so. Applications already properly filed with USCIS will also be accepted. The current fee schedule will apply to all applications filed under Visa Bulletin No. 107 through August 17, 2007. (The new fee schedule that becomes effective on July 30, 2007, will apply to all other applications filed on or after July 30, 2007). -USCIS

Santhsh ji, I don't that is very helpful for I-485 filers anyway. Since visa numbers for 2006 is already exprire and they can not approve a single I-485 until October, Just letting people to file really help. You can file all you want but approval is what matters...right? Your file will not be approved until visa numbers are available, so applying right now versus after October is same thing when it comes to approval time What is your take? Ahat is the benfit of this new improvement for people who already filed or are filing I-485?

Guys, At least you'll get your EAD.........For those who are planning to change their jobs, you can switch your job 6 months after your EAD is certified. One more important thing is once your spouse gets EAD, he/she can find a job( If you are married). It has pros/cons. Lets hope for the best.

No!!! This thread does not deserve an early termination. I just felt that way about it because the earlier issues have been so systematically supported by serious facts. I was wondering if somebody could tell what the processing time for the I485, is and when one can expect to receive the Green Card for the case filed on June11, 2007. Moreover, the guy says he has not even received the confirmation/receipt number. Any advice, plz?
