$50 giftcard as a wedding prezzie? oh no, that's cheap! go to best buyers or stores where they give you ideas about buying gifts! that helps a lot too.

Give $50 but put it in an envelope ( nepal style). Ask your other friends to do the same ( put whatever they are giving i.e. cash/gift card etc in an envelope).

raazstone, my recommendation : NO CASH NO GIFT CARD CHEQUE in an ENVELOPE reason: you do not have to fear who gets it. [ a lot of time cashes changes hands ] you would know where you spend your money she would also remember that you gave her that much because she has to go that extra mile to deposit it Gift Card: restricts them. They have to spend it at a particular shop. unless you go and buy MC, VISA or AMEX gift card. They might have been putting off some big purchases to make after the wedding. Who knows.. . Cash/Form of Cash is better. BUT MAKE SURE YOUR CHEQUE DOES NOT BOUNCE BACK. THEN SHE IS GOING TO HATE YOU FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE

A gift of cash (of course in a nice envelope!) is a gift of total freedom!
