I am a proud Nepali, living away from home. Although I have acquired a foreign citizenship, I always say I am a Nepali to everyone. Foregin citizenship is only a document for me to stay easily in this country, nothing more than that.
Recnt episodes of incidents in Nepal regarding Madhesi and Pahadi collision in Nepaljung (and here in Sajha too) have forced everyone of us to think why all this is happening. There are a few questions that needs to be answered, before its too late.
>Why a Madhesi feels alien in own country?
>Why a Pahadi feels they are deprieved by madhesi?
>Why dont the Pahedi community feels Madhesi are too Nepali?
>Why a Madhesi wants "madhesland"?
> Why Shadbhawana Party (now a one major political party) and Madhes Mukti Morcha are formed?
Madhesi and Pahadi must integrate well otherwise it will be a havoc. Pahadi community must respect madhesi community. Madhesi should not be treated as third citizens. But we should be aware that Madhesi look alikes from India should not be regarded as our Madhesi brothers. Indians are indians not madhesi, madhesi are our Nepali brothers. It will be like saying Chinese to prople from bhot.
Madhesi community must also try to intregrate with Pahadi community too. They must drop the idea of "Madhesland". It will never be acceptable to any Nepali to divide the country. We all are peace loving people, we have never been involved in such racist or cultural fights in past. Our history stands very bright behind us.
The first time when we all felt, the racism fight may start was not long back. I still remember and regard "Hritik Roshan Incident" as the starting point of Madhesi-Pahadei Collison. Added fuel by attacking Mosques during "Iraq Incident". Now its "Nepalgunj Incident". The past two were fuelled up by nationalism although it took a dirty look afterward. I was proud when many Nepali peple came to street to say that no-one to say Nepal is not good during Hritik Roshan incident. But when some fools started attacking our Madhesi brothers, it became the worst incident in the history of Nepali unity. Same thing happen when some fools attacked Mosques during Iraq incident. It really dismantled our religious tolorance, which was first of its kind in our proud history. Now, Nepalgunj incident... I nearly wept when i saw the raw video of Nepalgunj incident... It was not tolorable for me.
I request all our Nepali brothers and sisters to rise above others and speak about our country... not about dividing it in terms of anything. We all praise Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King for their words against racism,,, but why do we talk about racism.
PLEASE STOP RACISM... START NATIONALISM
