What should be our national anthem and what language should it be on? I want to hear serious discussion. Also I would like to point out the reason for doing this and it is because November is the month when national anthem is chosen. I for one would not like the national anthem to be changed everytime or some revolution comes along and changes it. It would be better to sort out all the problems now. The new anthem would have to be something that represents all of Nepal.

How about "JANA GANA MAANA BHARAT BHAGYA VIDHATA"??? ---- satifies your requirement - you do not have to change no matter who comes to power.

National anthem should be in Nepali b/c majority of the population can speak Nepali. Secondly, it should not praise royal family, or any politicians of the past or present. No religions should be mentioned and no specific tribe should be mentioned. UNITY AND EQUALITY for all should be the theme of the song.

P.T-Chillin if you read yesterdays The Himalayantimes it mentions that the anthem should represent the entire Nepal. How can a language of about 30% of population represent the rest of Nepal and what if somebody decide to rebel against it. Its better to short out differences now then wait and see and things like the rebellion we have now happen again.

Imi from what I see and the way stage is being set for Nepal I will give Nepal about another 10 years and you will start hearing the anthem you mentioned also.

See the thing it is very hard at this stage to satisfy any group . we just don't have political groups in Nepal, we have racial group, language groups.. everyone is after thier own advantage and no body is really thinking of Nation as whole.Every group feels like that the other groups have suppressed cheated now that we have democracy in Nepal..Loktantra ..that is not sufficient we want gantantra as well but tragedy is no body have clue what it means to have one ..what kind sacrifice you have to give for the unity of nation..And no one wants to do it.

Ok one group have already speaking Hindi In HOR so i assume MPS of that HOR understand this hindi as well as most of Nepali.So , without dispute .."JANA GANA MAAN " can be national anthem ..TRUST me it represents NEPAL..how helpless and dependent we are ..without india nothing is possible..even JANADolan II so called also was pushed by india..
