What the? I think people need to realize that it is the 21st century. Check this out people. If someone wants to do Miss Nepal, let them do it. All countries do it and there is nothing wrong on this. Like this, our country will be getting back to stone age pretty soon. Check the link below. And throw in some comment on this.

I argee with you UT2 on allowing anyone to participate in beauty contests.
But, we should be equally tolerate with protesting against the contests.
Their right to protest shows the freedom of speech (somewhat atleast)

Even in the US, the first Miss Nepal-America had protestors outside the event.
Then, ANA refused to hold future contests.

These protestors are of 2 types.
1) the ugly, who can't stand beauty (just like at the photo of protestors)
2) the idealist, who want a society not judged by beauty. This is impossible!!!
When these people meet a guy/girl or get married, you can't tell me that they don't
think about beauty. Otherwise, even the Elephant Man would get laid.

The protestors should redirect their energy into much more importan issues like poverty, medical treatment, or girl trafficking.

Look at the protesters--all ugly ones.Miss Nepal may or may not be right.But the ladies in this picture are doing this only out of jealousy.

I agree with the freedom of speech but look at our country now. WE are degrading day by day and there is corruption in the country and people are moving out of the country to other country which is really bad. All the smart people are in the US or in other country and no one to take care of the country. These protestors should protest against poverty, and other problems that is making our country third world.
Another thing i found out in our Nepali culture is sticking with the old fashioned culture and not bringing change. So does that mean we should be using bow and arrow till now. Of course not, we need to change to progress ourself. World has changed a lot in last 20 years, or even 10 years. And we need to catch the flow. It's useless protesting about something small like that when our country is about to FALL. One day we will be worse than most super poor country and begging for food. Ohh geeeeeez i dont want to see that!! and nor does anyone!! Shame on you protestors!!

Beauty pageant? Why is it necessary?

How about women stay home, cook, clean and look after the kids like it is traditionally done in Nepal? This 21st Century mentality about women being able to do what they want has got to go.

the women protesting are just aged. and who the hell are u to decide who is beautiful and who is not!!miss nepal is good only in the sense that it gives some money to the craps in nepal!! so thats good in a way i guess! miss nepal?!!!! khana paisa chhiana desh ma, lipstick powder dhasnu parne!!!
