I applied for AP on Aug 20th. It was rejected and a mail with a I-797 was sent to me today which states, "...requires proof that an I-821 has been submitted. Please resubmit your form I-821 with a copy of your Form I-821 receipt notice (I-797)". I had sent a copy of the latest I-797 of the TPS which says it expires on June 24, 2019 as you all know. From my understanding they thought it was already expired and they want me to renew TPS but I cannot as you all must be aware of the TPS. Has anyone gone through similar situation? I'd appreciate your suggestion regarding this conundrum. Thanks.

Print a page from uscis.gov on nepal TPS where it says any i797 with validity up to June 24, 2019 have been auto extended through March 24,2020. Provide a cover letter mentioning the injunction by the court and attach printouts from uscis page. That should do it. https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/temporary-protected-status/temporary-protected-status-designated-country-nepal Expand Automatic EAD extension title, print it and highlight the one where it says i797 extension.

@ark just did that. Thank you very much. Did you experience the same thing? I was also told to do the same by USCIS customer support. But she didn't know about the auto extension, so I guess the person who viewed my application didn't know either. Hopefully this time around it goes through.
