NepaliBhai ji, Where shall I begin ? Maoist's ultimate goal is to establish a single party republic which they call "People's Republic". What I am talking about is a Multiparty Republic, commonly referred to as "Democratic Republic". Here are some of my thoughts on possibility and necessity of multiparty Republic: ( - http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/column.cfm?extraid=622 )

Nepe, You do come up with some good tactics even though a kid from the block can tell that its nothing but bullshit. By the way Nepalibhai, you should have figured out their concept by now. Its nothing but appetite for destruction of Nepal but obstruction for people who step up to do something good for the country. Baluwatar prime minister's residence is their destination in life and possibly couple of mansions around Budhanilkantha hill area and so on, the list goes on. These are people with double faces or maybe triple, shit if I know. If I am wrong by not supporting these morans, I don't wanna be right. peace ;)

Lately, it has dawned on me that arguing with these one-track 'I-know-it-all' fanatics is a sheer waste of time and energy. These people must have been living abroad for yonks -- they are completely out of touch with the ground realities in Nepal. These people have no idea how difficult life is back home. I challange all the democracy activists to come and live in Nepal permanently. I DARE YOU! I DARE YOU! I DARE YOU! If you are true to your words I know you will take up my challange -- if you don't you are a pathetic coward. I would be really interested to see if these democracy activists would still be rooting for democracy. At the end of the day, it's us -- the people living in Nepal -- who will be directly affected by the events that take place in Nepal.

Nepe, you are as bad as Maoist. How are you different than Prachandra. I have a feeling that you are one of the Nepali congress' people. I'm sure you get paid by Girija or sujata for promoting this. I hope you realize before it is too late that what you are doing is basically f*ucking up our lives here in Nepal. I wish you were man enough to come back to nepal and fight for what you believe if you really believe in what you say you do. I know you are one of the organizers, I'm not sure why you hate Nepal and Nepalese's common interest so much. Everyone knows that majority of people seek peace in Nepal which only King G can provide. and I'm sure you know this. But still you are spending your nights and days barking like a mad dog here in sajha. I wish you burn in hell. I hate Gyane as much as any one but he is the only one we have got left. And you cannot deny that. If you have someone else better in mind.....please share with us... please tell me one person who can do better than G. Give me one who can provide me and my kids better security than the king? Give me one name who can go head to head with Prachandra? Tell me one name who can reduce corruption in Nepal? give me one name? can you....you freaking Carde??? Girija ko lagountii. You are nothing better than sujata ko G string. You are nor ghar ko na ghat ko?dhobi ko kukur. If I ever to see you person I will punch you on your face like sh*t. I swear.

New user, Here are some of my disagreements with you: 1)I'm sure you get paid by Girija or sujata for promoting this. Are you being paid by the Royal Family or any of his dhupaure to defend the current king movement??? 2)I wish you burn in hell. Ya in the present situation, all Nepali people are born in Hell. It is very hard to have two kings and two law and order in a small colony. Have you ever traveled outside of Katmandu recently?? Have you thought that the King?s movement has improved security to other part of Nepal?? Has the malpoot?s corrupted mukhia stopped taking money from our poor Nepali daju bhai?? Has the Maoist stopped their Pared in the district capitals?? And I can go on this. Kathmandu is not only Nepal!!!! If some one cannot read and write, use their human right to protest, communicate each other, cannot travel, that is already a sign of Hell. 3)You are nor ghar ko na ghat ko?dhobi ko kukur. Ya, I agree with you on this one. Nepe and I are ghaar ko na ghat ko. A house with close door is only a Jail for us. And we are trying to free our house. Imaging how hard will it be if, Sajha stopped you to post your thought?? 4)If I ever to see you person I will punch you on your face like sh*t. I swear. Let us see, how Murd are you. On May 15th, Nepe will me in front of white house. If you cannot drive around, I will personally pick you up from your house. I just want to see how good are you in keeping up your swearing. Good luck and I will see you on the 15.

Pauna ji, I appreciate your goodwill. However, I wouldn't waste my time in responding to a trash talk of a faceless guy in an anonymous forum. Trash talking and responding to it will be abuse and misuse of bandwidth San provides to us for free in Sajha in the first place. Then there are better things to do. So I would suggest you to ignore them. There is simply no point in being bothered by trash talk of some faceless guy. Absolutely no point. एक-दुई कुकुर भुक्दै गर्छन् , सयौं हात्तीहरू Lafayette Park मा लस्कदै गर्छन् । हात्तीहरुको जुलुस र नाराको कुरा गर्दा, their new official (yet to be verified) slogans are much better and to the point. Slogans somebody posted in insn.org Long Live DEMOCRACY. Down with MILITARY DICTATORSHIP of Gyanendra ! US Taxpayer: Do NOT Fund King G?s PRIVATE Army ! Release ALL PRISONERS OF CONSCIENCE ! Stop REPRESSION of Media ! We say NO to both Prachanda Path and Gyanendra Path ! Dictators SILENCE us ! Democracy REPRESENTS us ! Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Prachanda, Gyanendra? NO to ABSOLUTE Monarchy, NO to OBSOLETE Maoism ! Keep Tyranny out of Nepal ! Tyranny is no Answer to Terror ! Stop Military TERROR ! Release GAGAN THAPA and Other Poltical Prisoners ! Chief Justice: NO POLITICS! Please RESIGN ! President Bush: Keep your word - More Freedom, More Democracy ! Democrcay: No Country Left Behind ! SUSPEND All Military Aid until ARMY is brought under FULL Civilian Control ! Political Parties must Apologize and REFORM ! Political Parties We NEED: More Internal Democrcay, Transparency, Inclusion and Younger / Cleaner Faces ! Political Parties: Take action Against the Corrupt and Incompetent Leaders and Cadres ! People: Lets Promote Younger, Cleaner and Comepetent Leadership in Political Parties !

It feels so good to be overwhlemed with people wanting to join the rally, despite some chyaun chyaun from the (nuanced) royalists at the obvious losing end. I happy to report that the two 45-capacity buses chartered by the NY coordinators of the rally now seems not enough for the the overhwleming number of people showing interest. We are in a last minute frantic attempt to rent three more 15-seater vans in addition to encouraging people with private cars to car pool. So goes the story of people's true desires and aspirations. In the mean time, some of you please pardon the redundancy of re-pasting the following appeal that I wrote to garner support for the rally. It might be useful for those who havn't seen it yet. Just one more day, so please excuse just one more attempt. [What follows was first published in target=_blank>www.samudaya.org] "Support the Pro-Democracy Rally in Washington DC" by ANIL J. SHAHI May 2005 Serious (in terms of intensity by which they thrive) and protracted violent movements?like the Nepali Maoist conflict?take years, if not decades, to ferment. The root of Maoist problem in Nepal is the culture of inequality and suppression based on hierarchical system that was started by the Rana oligarchy and further perpetuated (at the most) and promoted (at the least) by the Panchayat autocracy. Therefore, the real and sustainable solution to Maoist crisis would come not from further absolutism of the King, but from genuine and sincere empowerment of the people, which can only be guaranteed in a democratic system. Despite many failures of successive democratic governments of the post-Panchayat era, one area that Nepal made remarkable progress under democracy?albeit weak?was in empowerment of the people who were ignored, suppressed, and deprived of rights, privileges and opportunities, particularly those from the rural areas, who were/are the vast majority of Nepali population. In the long run, what really matters?and what really holds true solutions to social ills (corruption being one of them)?is the real and genuine power to the people. Yes, the progress during the democratic era was very slow and definitely was not enough, and much, much more needed to be done. Nevertheless, we would be mistaken not to recognize the fact that the progressive trend towards better awareness (among the people) was started and was slowly but surely gaining pace in the 14 years or so of nascent democracy in Nepal. Despite some serious difficulties, this trend need not be halted, not even for a moment. KingG and his coterie of vision-deprived, obviously-not-fit-for-modern-times crooks, after extended efforts to undermine the democratic governments, have done just that. There is not a shred of doubt that the political parties needed to be profoundly reformed and the likes of Girija, Deuba and MaKuNe (who too lacked any sense of vision and who also heralded from the old school that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in today's world) needed to be properly checked. However, this very process of desperately needed political, social and cultural transformation (not limited to political leaders alone) is not fathomable in any other system but democracy. Any course towards reform and positive changes is only viable in a democratic platform where the people can vibrantly debate, argue and draw constructive conclusions. Democracy, not autocracy, ensures greater awareness among the people and empowers them. Empowered people create better political alternatives. Better political alternatives, in turn, obviously guarantees better results for the people. This is the way it works. And this is the way it should be. There have been legitimate questions about the effectiveness of a rally being held half way around the world, hence reluctance of some to attend the rally. First and foremost, my friends, please remember that it is a very simple matter of freedom of expression. If we are to deprive ourselves of our own very basic, fundamental rights just because of the fear of it?s ineffectiveness, then we'd be no worse than the King who deprives his people of those very rights. The right to freedom of expression is ours, and let us use it! We all have traveled thousands of miles to an alien land because we all had our own respective dreams. Some of us will go back, or at least are seriously contemplating the idea, others won't?those are the freewill of every individual that must be respected. Nevertheless, the differences in personal choices of ways of livings do little to undermine the love for the land that we all grew up in, and the place that we all can commonly dearly associate with. It is in this spirit that ? despite the differences in the way we wish to live?the least we can do is show our support for those who are fighting for people's rights back home. Those who are risking jail, torture, or in some extreme cases "disappearance", to peacefully struggle for the much-needed genuine empowerment of the people are brave souls whom we must all have utmost respect for. Showing solidarity is one way to do so. And being at the rally is one way of expressing that solidarity. At this critical juncture in our country's history, it has become imperative that we all stop and think of what kind of future we all desire for our country. We have lived under autocracies of one form or the other for most of our modern political history. It is about time we began to let go of the concept of needing a "father figure" to guide us all the time. It is about time that we begin to have confidence in ourselves, individually and collectively. And it is about time that we began to arouse better awareness among the people who still believe that an "individual" other than ourselves has the solutions to our problems. It is about time we fought absolutism of the King so that then we can effectively fight the tyranny of the Maoists, with the best weapon available: freewill of the people. The rally is one way of making our voices heard, of showing our support for all those who dare to believe in the collective we, of spreading our message of people's power, and of creating better awareness amongst ourselves, so that when all is said and done, we will have a country that is thriving with democracy and personal liberty. There is absolutely no alternative to democracy in a multi-ethnic and pluralistic society like ours. Please join the rally in DC if you can and support the cause for democracy and human rights in Nepal. This rally is not about the political leaders who undoubtedly have failed us time and again. Neither it is limited to fighting against absolutism of the King. This rally is about us?it is about you and I and every Nepali who dares to dream of a better future for ourselves. After all, it is not up to Girija, or MaKune, or Deuba, or KingG to deliver for us. We have the keys to our own future and it is only when we develop a sense of collective confidence in ourselves?through democracy?that we will succeed in achieving what now seems impossible. Better tomorrow is achieved by believing in ourselves today. Let us believe in our rights, our strengths and our future. Let us not let an individual take those away from us. Washington, DC, May 15th, Sunday. Be there!

Hi Nepeji and others, I wish I could attend the rally. It is obvious to me that the more this chaos in Nepal is dragged, the more consolidated Gyanendra's power will become. In chaos, civil society suffers while rulers of barrack and jungles strengthen. I don't overestimate the importance and influence of Nepali people living in USA in Nepali politics. Our impact is , at best, marginal.Hence, the protest is , after all, all about our conscience. There are some quasi-intellectuals who find every minor faults in democracy and democracy activists, while condoning king for all his blunders. A small example, a bunch of cartoons were invested as anchaladhis: no one asked what their qualifications were, why they were not selected from some sort of competition (after all they take public money), in fact, I am surprised to find all these new appointments by the king has been non-issue even in democratic circles. By protesting against king, we are providing counter-weight to these pessimistic quasi-intellectuals. Finally, Goodwishes again. Hope something positive comes out of it.

About Bishwoji ko comment, I had raised the issue about the appt. of anchaladhis, appt. of a wanted Drug trafficker as District supervision officer, attempt to change the curicullum into a 'nationalist curicullum', announced plan of change in civil service act etc. But nobody wanted to talk on those issues in sajha. Aba hamro poonte ji is very busy with rally things. Nepeji doesn't see anything except republicanism. I say, first lets be united and than attack the monarchy when it is weak, he says: no, we should attack them right now. And there is Pauna ji who mistakes me as some one else. Hare shiba. K bha ho yo sajha ma?

Biswo ji, Thanks for showing up and for your solidarity and support. New User ji, Looking forward to seeing you in Lafayette Park tomorrow. Biswo ji and New Userji, we will keep the discussion on after the show. Will be coming with New Yorkers. I am excited. I am all set. Some 20 years ago, I had written a poem in a police custody and recited it to 150 fellow detainees that were there. I still remember the first stanza.
