By the way

few weeks ago i was talking with a chinese girl about moral giving stories and " Daure ra Banchoro" do exist in their culture. So does, "Jhuto bolyo ki polyo". Of course the titles are different.

My favourite in Nepali is  - "Mero sano sathi"

There was also a funny one. - "Naresh ra Raju" - who can tell me who is who?

 

surely ...Naresh is a little boy N' Raju is a little dog.....Naresh becomes sick as Ladu(Raju) has to stay away from him as he losts the way.....I guess so...

malai pani ekdum sunna man lagyo ...i only remember few points of this story, if asked if he’d to take the long but safer route or short but dangerous route he had chosen the shorter one...i dont remember everything but the moral of the story was that brave and intelligent people go for the shorter route whatever the risk may be and the weaker fellows go for the longer route as they dont want to take a riskkkk....yestai yestai...

 

Here are the main points of of the story:

1. King and queen cannot give birth.

2. They consult a demon (??). Demon proposes --- king/queen would have a son if they agree to hand over the young son (at the age of 16 yrs? ) to him.

3. King/queen agree and eventually give bith to "Rajkumar Dikpal"

4. Rajkumar grows up to become 16 yrs old.

5. The demon comes to the palace asking for Rajkumar Dikpal.

6. Initially, king/queen hand over a fake "Rajkumar dikpal"

7. In the middle the demon asks rajkumar to take a shortcut/ or long route.

8. The fake Rajkumar wants to go the long one as it is more safer

9. Demon identifies that the Rajkumar is not real. he comes back to the palace and asks king and queen to give the real Rajkumar or get cursed.

10. King and queen give the real Rajkumar to the demon.

11. This Rajkumar agrees to go via the dangerous route - proving his credibility.

12. The demon takes Rajkumar to his place and instructs him to remain in confined space. He also shows his prayer room and tells no one is entitled to enter it.

13. As Rajkumar was demon's favourite, demon allowed Rajkumar to play and stay together with demon princess(?)

14. One day out of curiosity, rajkumar entered demons prayer room. The room was bloddy and there were garland of heads from other rajkumars of different place. The dead rajkumars head spoke together and told their stories. They were very similar to Dikpal's one. The heads told to Dikpal that the demon would chop Dikpal's head the next next morning. All the heads urged Dikpals to kill the demon and sprinkle his blood to them so that thy would come alive. I think they also taught him the technique to kill the demon.

15. Next morning, the demon took Dikpal to his prayer room and asked him to pose so that he could chop his head. But Dikpal humbly requested demon to show the pose himself first so that he can do it properly. While demon was posing to show Dikpal the correct pose, Dikpal quickly took a sword and chopped demon's head and sprinkled blood to all the other Rajkumars head.

16. All rajkumars came alive and were free. They then went to their respective kingdoms to rule.

17. But Dikpal was in love with demon princess. But how can he get married with her as she was from demon race. She was also in love with Dikpal. Importantly, she knew the secret to be human race from demon. She told dikpal the tehnique  asked him to  rescue all the demon race into human race.

18. Dikpal had to break a piller of "Sphatik" at the middle of a pond and had to kill 3(?) "bhamara" that come out of it.

19. Rajkumar decided to do that and rescue demon race.

20. When Dikpal broke the piller (big thunder and lightening followed), three "bhamara"  came out of it which Dikpal killed-  With that killing, there originated a beautiful city at that place with a goldel illuminated palace.

21. Dikpal married with the princess and ruled  the beautiful kingdom happily ever after........................

This summary really took me back to school days. Oh my god!!
