एकजना छन अमेरिकाको न्यूयोर्कमा । आफुले आफैलाई बुद्धिमान घोषणा गर्दै आफु बिदेशिनुलाई ब्रेन डर्नको सज्ञा दिने त्यो सख्श अरु कोही होइन अनाबश्यक रुपमा तपाई हाम्रो ब्यक्तिगत मेल अकाउन्टको यनबाक्स फुल गर्ने हिन्दु अतिवादी र तराईको शान्त नेपाललाई भारतीय भुमन्डलमा मिलाउने प्लानका सेवक हुन-परमेन्द्र कुमार भगत ।

उनी हरेक दिनजसो दर्जनौ मेल दुनियाका हजारौ मेलबक्समा पठाउछन् । कुनैबेला नेपालको प्रजातान्त्रिक आनदोलनलाई सहयोग गर्ने नाममा काठमाडौंको आन्दोलनको फोटो किन्ने भगत अहिले हरेक दिन पहाडिका नाउमा बिद्वेश उराल्दै मधेशीका मनमा घृणाको बीउ रोप्न उद्यत छन् । अर्थात उनी पहाडी र मधेशी नेपालीबीच माराकाट गराएर साम्पर्दायिक हिसाको बिउ रोप्न चाह्छन । किनभने यो उनको मालिकको आदेश हो ।

भारत नेपालमा के चाहन्छ ब्वासोले गाइको बाच्छालाई मायाले सुम्सुमाएर कन्याउदै मुटु कलेजो झिकेर खाएजस्तो गर्ने प्लानमा छ । नेपालमा हिसा बढेपछि बिचरा भन्दै सुमसुमाउन आए जस्तो गरि तराइलाइ आफ्नो भागमा मिलाउने र को दीर्घकालिन रणनीती पुरा गर्ने एजेन्ट हुन उनी । उनीमात्र होइन उपेन्द्र यादव हृदयेश त्रिपाठी र जयकृस्ण गोइतहरु पनि त्यही हुन । जो आफुलाई नेपाली भनाउन समेत चहदैनन् ।

हिजोसम्म श्री ५ को सरकार हुदा उनीहरुले जनआन्दोलन भाग २ मा कहि पनि मधेशका नाउ उच्चारण गर्न परेन । राजाकै शाशनमा मस्त भए । किनभने अहिलेका राजा भारतीयकै ज्वाई र नातेदार अनि उतैबाट आएका थिए । तर अहिले जब नेपाली जनताको ुनेपाल सरकारु भयो उनीहरुलाई नेपाली भन्न लाज लाग्यो र मधेश सरकारको नारा उचाल्न थाले ।

केही समयअघि सम्म मधेशी र लोबतन्त्रको नारामा ब्लग लेखिरहेका उनी एक्कासी नेपालबिरोधी र भारतसमर्थक भएर निस्किए । उनी नेपाली पासपोर्टकै आधारमा अमेरिकामा बसिरहेका छन् भलै भारतीय कृपादृष्टिले पालिएका किन नहोस । तर आफुलाई नेपाली भनाउदा लाज लाग्छ रे । मधेश छुट्टै देश हो रे । नेपालीहरुले त्यस देश हडपेका हुन रे । उनका पछिल्ला लेख पढ्दा यस्तै लाग्छ ।

काठमाडौंका नेवारले नजानेर किम्बदन्ती वा जोक्स बनाएको ‘मनु मखु मडिस्या ख’ लाई ठुलो मुद्दा बनाएर आर्टिकल लेखे । पहाडिया भनेका मान्छे नै होइनन र उनीहरुलाई खत्तम गर्नुपर्छ भन्ने उनको आशय झल्किन्छ ।

वास्तबमा यो फलाम तातेको बेलामा हिट गरेजस्तै हो । तराईमा सयजना मान्छे अगाडि लगायो हजार जना पारीबाट सय रुपैया दैनिक दिएर ल्यायो । नत्र काठमाडौमा लाखौ मान्छे उत्रदा जनआन्दोलन २ मा किन तराईमा मान्छे सुन्यप्राय थियो राजतन्त्र बिरुद्ध ११ बर्ष जनयुद्ध हुदा पहाडमा जसरी क्रान्ति मौलायो तराईमा लुटेर खानेहरु मात्र बढे किन हुन त तराईमा पुरानो डाका सस्कारले गर्दा पनि माओवादीमा लाग्नेहरु लागेका थिए लुट्न नपाउने भएपछि जनतान्त्रीकमा लागे । राजा फाल्ने आन्दोलनमा चाही नलाग्ने अहिले ठुृलो क्रान्तिकारी कुरा गर्ने

भगत जस्ता कथित नौटंकी अनुहारहरु धेरै छन् यहा । उनी कहिले आफु नेपालमा राजनीति गर्न नफकर्कने कुरा गर्छन त कहिले अमेरिकामा सबैले नेपाल गएर राजनीति गर भनिरहेको लेख्छन ।

परमेन्द्र भन्ने मान्छेले एकपटक अनौठो कुरा गर्यो । सारा सार्क क्षेत्र एउटै रास्ट्र हुनुपर्ने प्रस्ताब राख्छन । यसको अर्थ के हो हिन्दुस्तानले भन्ने गरेको सारा भारतबर्ष एउटै देश होओस भनेको होइन पाकिस्तान बंगलादेश देखि नेपाल र भुटानसम्म भारतमै गाभियोस भन्ने उनको आशय हो कि होइन यस्ताले तराइको आन्दोलन हाकेको दाबी गरेका छन् । के यो कहाबाट सन्चालित हो यसै थाहा हुदैन

अमेरिकामा उनी कसरी पुगे यहा के काम गर्छन उनी बेलाबखत नेपालमा पत्रिका र इन्टरनेट साइट चलाउनेहरुलाई अलिअलि रकम दिएर भारतीय लाइनका नेपाली नेताहरुका। अन्तर्बातार्ता लिन लगाउछन् । यता केही पैसामा बिकेर पत्रकार भनाउदाहरु भारतकै दलालीमा बोलेको कुरा छाप्छन । उनको धन्दा यस्तै छ । आफुलाई महान बनाएर आर्टिकल लेख्दै दुनियाका मेलमा बिना अनमति बग्रेल्ती िलंक पठाएर उनले दुनियालाई दुःख दिएबापत क्षतिपुर्ती तिर्नुपर्दैन अमेरिका बस्नेलाई त यो थाहा हुनुपर्ने उनले अरुको मेल आइडी कसरी थाहा पाए प्राइभेसी ल अनुसार त कारबाही हुन्छ आफु बिदेशिदा ब्रेन ड्रेनको घोषणा गर्नेलाई त थाहा हुनुपर्ने ।

गगन थापासित अकंमाल गरेको फोटो खिचाउदा आफुलाई भाग्मानि ठानेर आर्टिकल लेख्नेले अहिले तिनै थापाहरु अर्थात पहाडेहरुका बिरुद्ध बिषबमन गर्दा कस्तो लाज नलागेको । साइटभरी आफ्ना नानाभातिका फोटो राखेर प्रचार गर्ने भगतले लेखेका अग्रेजीका भाषण कतिजना तराइबासीले पढ्छन त्यो उनलाई के मतलब भगतले त त्यो भाषण आफ्ना मालिकहरुलाई देखाएर पैसा झार्नका लागि हो । साच्चै तराइका लागि सबेदनशील हो भने त कलैयामा आएर जुलुसको नेतृत्व गरुन न । सोझा गरिब मर्ने भगतहरुचाही अमेरिकामा बसेर तर मार्ने

पहाडिया र मधेशीको साम्प्रदायिक सदभाब भडकाएर मान्छे मार्ने खेल हुदैछ । यदी त्यसो भयो भने नेपालको इतिहासमा पहिलोपटक लाखौ मानिस मारिन्छन । देश बिखन्डन पक्का हुन्छ । भगतहरुको मास्टर प्लान यही हो ।

जनअधिकार फोरम भनेको भारतीय दुतावासबाट रकम ल्याएर सास्कृतिक कार्यक्रम गर्ने गोष्ठि गर्ने र एक दुइटा प्रतिबेदन छपाएर मधेशीको नाम भजाउदै पैसा कमाउने एनजिओ होइन यो कुनै पार्टी हो जसले बिचारको आन्दोलन गर्छ त्यहा बसेका नेताहरुको कुण्डल हेर्नुपर्छ कहा कहाबाट सन्चालित छन यसै थाहा हुन्छ ।

उपेन्द्र यादव काठमाडौंको बानेश्वरमा एकजना राजावादीको घरमा भाडामा सायद सित्तैमा बस्छन् । किशोरकुमार बिश्वास भन्ने मण्डले जो सद्भावना पार्टी छाडेर दरवारहुदै भारतीय क्याम्पमा पुग्यो उनी पत्रकारहरुको फोन नम्बर सकलन गर्दै आफ्नो नाम बजाइदिने अनुरोध गरिरहन्छन् । अर्का आफुलाई महासचिब बताउनेचाही उपेन्द्र यादबले बोक्ने ९८४१-४३५७७१ नम्बरको मोबाइल उठाउछन र आफ्नॊ नाम उल्लेख गरेर समाचार लेखिदिन र आफ्नै अन्तरवार्ता लिइदिन करकर गरिरहन्छन् । उनका अन्तरवार्ता लिन मानेन भने उपेन्द्र यादवलाई सम्पर्क हुनै दिदैनन उनी ।

अस्ति भारतको गणतन्त्र दिवसका भारतीय दुतावासमा भएको पार्टीमा फोरमका नेताहरु कसरी कानेखुशीमा मग्न थिए त्यो कुरा सहभागि यो पंक्तिकारलाई थाहा छ । राजेश अहिराज जस्ता नटबरलाल पत्रकारहरु पनि त्यस दिन एक लाख भारुको पुस्तक पुरस्कार लिदै चलमलाइरहेका थिए ।

Thanks for the link. If it is true it should go accordingly....I believe Mr. Bhagat is a wise man and he will accept the justice. However, the government should listen and analyze their demands.

This is 21st century, the age of brain not of bread. Logic and reason are the two major weapons of this civilized world. If you are more logical and rational you will win and if Mr. Bhagat is more logical and rational he will win... I can say this for sure.

I am backing Madheshi revolution because I don't see their participation in government bureaucracy and political leadership...They are Nepali and they should have equal participation to govern Nepal. Nobody should be discriminated...Nepal is our country..Madhesh is our land. ...All Madheshis are Nepali and proud Nepali...Pahad is our land.. Himal is our land.. Himal Pahad and Tarai make our beautiful nation. ..Bhagat is my mine and I am his...If I am getting more privilege than him it is injustice. I don't want to live with injustice... I want to live with honor and dignity. Honor and dignity comes through justice only.

If people want federal system it should be accepted... there is nothing wrong. Democracy is people's rule and they can rule whatever way they want. However, everything should be done through process and system. What is wrong with federal system? UK, USA, India, China and many other countries have federal system. ..and they are successful.

To my unknown/unseen friend Paramendra Bhagat:

Discriminated Nepal:

When I was in high school, I was in a hostel. My hostel accommodated students from different part of Nepal, Tarai, Himal, Pahad and some were even from India. There were people of different castes culture and ethnic group; there were Magars, Gurungs, Sherpas, Tamangs, Rai, Limbu, Bahun, Kahstries, Yadavs, Muslims, Newars and many more. We lived like a family; if I am analyzing correctly we didn't have any discrimination in our mind, however, we kept offending each others.

I had quite a few best frineds, mostly from different caste and ethnic group, and one of them was from Birjung; he was Madhesi. He was dark, so we called him Kaluwa. Kaluwa was very close to me. I never called him but he was called Madhese, Dhoti all the time. He didn't mind because that was the tradition of our hostel. He replied back them saying पाखे, भोटे, ज्यापु . Newars were called Jyapu, Madhesis were called Dhoti, Sherpa/Tamang/Magar/Guruing/even Rai-Limbu were called Bhote and Bahun/Kshatri were called Bahun or Chuch!

We were kids, who taught us this discrimination? Our tradition.. our culture...Our parents didn't directly taught us but we indirectly learn from them. We are very uncivilized people... our tradition is based on discrimination. ..A multicultural society based on discrimination is like a time bomb... it can blast anytime.

Today, Madheshi are bringing this point again and again... They are saying that they are called Dhoti... they are called Madeshi. What is wrong with that? Dhoti is a pride of Indian subcontinent and Madesh is their motherland...

Words are not the problem. Words are lifeless, what gives life to them is mind. What is the state of your mind while using those words is important. For example: I use the word साला to my closest friends, with love; they feel happy with that word. If I use the same word with hatred, it will definitely bring disaster. Words themselves are lifeless mental volition gives them life.

When we use the word मदेशे ,पाखे, भोटे, ज्यापु with hatred and domination to offend people, it is wrong. ..This is what we usually do....I don't except better from an uncivilized society like ours.

Our heart is burning with the fire of discrimination. Not only with Madheshes, the discrimination can be with anybody. Pahadis are called पाखे. to dominate them or to show them lower or uncivilized. नेवार are called ज्यापु and Mangolians are called भोटे. We have pretty bad culture to dominate others. I see this culture in highly educated people as well. We have to leave this...if we want a stable society. We have to learn to respect others.. We have to help others.

Madhesi brothers shouldn't mind to if they are said Madhesi or Dhoti. They are part of the culture...either they have to show civilization to those offenders by being more civilized or they have to learn to offend back saying... पाखे, भोटे, ज्यापु etc.

yeah ..words are just words
and the state of mind when you use that word is what matters most. For me... I find nepali bad words more offensive than english bad words. Perhaps the only time i hear nepali bad words are when people are using it with hatred. English words, I have seen it used in a lot of context other than hatred...so accustomed to it. like saying shit!! but then shit is not really considered bad anymore i think LOL

anyway for many people i think bad words are bad words. Only those who grew up using bad words everywhere wud not be offended (when state of mind is not hatred) or maybe even otherwise. But most i still think they wud be offended. It's better to control not using such degrading and hateful words, but noone is perfect. They can try their best in being sensitive about others' feelings when using such words

Vishontar, while I am not much knowledgeable to pour my thoughts on Madhesh issue, I find your insights very enlightening.

Don't run away:

Don't run away just because you feel you are discriminated; you will never get smooth road anywhere in the world. Running away from adverse situation is against the evolution. ...you have to learn to fight back to keep your identity and to glorify it.

Don't cry that you are discriminated in Nepal. Discrimination is not only Nepal's problem, it is the problem of the world. I have been in India quite a few time and by my default nature I show my curiosity about their culture, tradition and lifestyle. To my great surprise I found they are divided more then we do. They hate and mistrust Bihari and UPs more than Nepali. ..I have Indian friends here and they openly say so.

I have heard directly Indian ..."We say to Pakistan..Take Bihar instead of Kashmir". What a shame and what a discrimination! What could be a cause of this? I will come to this point later. I have so many things to say in this regard.... how a glorious land turned to a land of shame?

I don't like politics that's why I didn't read your posts and articles. However, I have always considered you one of the most brilliant Nepali in USA. I was proud and I will always proud of you. I have believed that one day you will give something to Nepal not to Madhesh only. ...How can you discriminate a disadvantaged Pahadi and Himali from a disadvantaged Madhesi? I am positive you will fight for all disadvantaged people of Nepal. You will have a heart bigger than Mount Everest. ...It is good you have started from Madesh. Be logical and rational!.. I don't believe the way you are defined in original article....I hope you won't disappoint me...there are extremist everywhere and we have to turn them down.

Madesis consider they are close to India:

India is a vast land. Every single Nepali are associated with Inida. Rai/Limbu have brotherhood in Indian state of Bangal. Madhesi have brotherhood with Bihar and UP. Pahadi people shares same language with the people of Uttaranchal. Do you know Kali river divides Nepali दार्चुला from Inidan धर्चुला? People who lives in Kasmir/Rajstan/Gujrat/Himanchal/Andrapradesh/Punjab are genetically close to Brahmin and Ksahtris of Nepal. Tamang/Sherpa/Guruing all Tibetian family are related to the people of Sikkim/Kashmir/Arunanchal/Himanchal. Most of the Newars are Lichhivi and they were from Baishali, Bihar, today's Mujjaffar Inida. We all are equally related to India...and we all should be proud of it.

India is a great Nation. ..I found very warm welcome from Indians and I have Indians as best friends...We all have family back their in India...the only difference is Madheshis relative lives closer....Only narrow minded fools think Madheshi are more closer to India then others.

I like to play with languages, If I analyze Nepali, I can definitely say it is nothing but a mixture of Gujrati, Punjavi and Rajasthani. ....If you track the Y chromosomes, you will find it is equally distributed everywhere in India and Nepal despite Tarai/Pahad/Himal.

I have very few best friends in USA, one of them is Madeshi. We talk almost every week, where as I hardly talk once or twice in a year with my other friends. ... I am solitude lover :). He is thousands of miles away from me but he is closer to my heart then my closest relatives and my other Pahadi friends who live few meters away from me...if heart clicks you don't discriminate people...we need bigger hearts to accommodate our diversity.

Those are extremist who wants to divide country by region and culture. Scholars like you should demoralize these extremists.

Next I will write real issue of Madhesh:

Real cause of Madhesh:

More than 90% Madheshes are so called backward people. They are economically poor and culturally corrupted. The Nepali structure is same form Pahad /Himal/ to Tarai. Since we share the same culture and tradition, there are privileged people in Tarai as well. These are so called upper caste people. Mostly, Brahmans (Jha, Tiwari), Rajpoots (Singh, Chauhan), Kayastha (Karna, Lal). Most of these people are rich, well educated and well cultured...If these people say they are discriminated, I can't buy this. .. They discriminate Madheshi lowers casts more than Pahadi discriminates Madhesi.

Today, everywhere we are hearing Yadav...Yadav.. Yadav. Matrika P Yadav.... Krishna Bahadur Yadav.. ..Upendra yadav... Ram Baran Yadav. ..Yadavs makes most of the Madheshi population. These Yadavs are decendants of ancient Indian kings... They are proud Kshatriyas. However, as time passed, they were ruled by new sets of Kshatrias known as Rajpoots. These Rajpoots are Indo-Persians. Now a days these Yadavs are considered lower to Rajpoots and they are considered a backward caste.

This song gives a flavor of how Yadavs are treated by so called upper casts:

सौ साल पहेले, यादब कम्हार (a kind of lower caste) था; सरपे पुवार (पराल =straw) था; भेस (buffalo) पर सवार था; अनपढ गवार था, आजभी है और कलभी रहेगा।

These are Yadavs. Now these illiterate Yadavs, buffalo riders, who carry bunch of straw in their head are rising. This is their revolution not of Madhesi Brahmans, Rajpoots, and Kayasthas. I like this uprise... I am happy these suppressed Yadhavs and other lower casts will get awareness and some day they will be equally commutative with the society.

I don't believe Madheshis are discriminated. I believe there are backward people who are discriminated and their number is more in Madhesh.

What is solution?

If you can not solve the problem you are part of the problem:

To give power to these people is not solution. Laloo Yadav ruled Bihar for 15 years and made it most poorest and lawless country. Few Yadavs will be ministers and will make their house in Kathmandu.

They have to be given culture...A new progressive culture...I will write on this next week.... this part is very important and I don't have enough time.

Those who disagree with "us" or those who hold radically different views from us are NOT necessarily anti-bikas, anti-Nepal or pro-India and so on.

People such as Paramendra are FREE to hold their views, no matter how offensive those views are to most people. Defending Paramendra like this does NOT mean support for what he says. It only means a support for his RIGHT to say.

A democracy that cannot tolerate extreme, radical, dissenting views and take them all in strides is NOT a democracy but a madrasa.

It is in that spirit of FREE INQUIRY that I, for one, welcome Paramendra's views in the public space, while reserving my right to disagree with him without denouncing him as "Nepal seller" and other overloaded words.

WTF are you taking about brother? Yes, you are right in that in democracy everyone has a right to say. However, there is this inherent assumption that you have mutual respect for each other which this guy doesn't possess. He is an opportunist. See my previous post for reasons. I know this guy quite well and I stand firm on my views.

If he can condemn pahadis, how do you expect the pahadis to react? Accept his views and remain calm? It is human nature to respond and critic to anything that doesn't seem rational. And, it is no wonder that Paramendra is an irrational guy motivated by nothing but money. If you pay him enough, I am damn sure he will quit writing about madhesh. The problem is he is not hired by companies because his self-professed talents aren't worth a penny.

He is no better than those spammers who go around the net, find emails, add them to your mailing list without consent, and claim your blog has the largest mailing list for nepalese. Shameless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't care whether you agree with his views or not, but one has to deserve to live in a society in order to command respect from the society. A bear from the jungle has no place in our society because it doesn't know how the society co-exists...He has to learn to appreciate others if he wants a warm welcome from others.

This case is different. Why? We all disagree in many respects and yet, we don't have hatred like this for others. Why? Because, we have this inherent tendency to accept and analyze views from other people who are rational. But, with this guy???????? No way...He is way off the hook...got to bring him back or he will fall into a crevasse...

Possibly he will also write that people have so much hatred for madhesi issue that this makes madhesi issue the most important one in Nepal. I am telling you now, because I know how this guy's brain functions...Just wait and see when he will write an article. After a long while it is good to read so many posting in Sajha. After reading all the posting in this thread I understood that ppl want to be different. Nepalese are more individualistic (that’s why we win more medals in individual games than a group game)

Regarding the discrimination in Nepal, Yes we have discrimination in Nepal but not that serious as some ppl love to portrait. But discrimination is discrimination in whatever form. I believe now it is time us to turn Nepal into a federal state. To all those ppl (different cast/ language/ Janjatis/ religion or geographic origin) whomsoever want a state of their own they can have it (central government should control only border, defense, currency and big projects which local government cant handle). Somewhere I heard today that Democracy in 21st century is not the right of everyone to be equal but right of everyone to be different. So, if some ppl think they are different than someone else let them think like that. For example if a group of 20,000 ppl think that their race/cast/language or geographic location demands a separate state within the federal Nepal let them have separate state.

Instead of spending time on who is good or who is bad (or who is wrong or who is right) we should spend time on real issue. PPl want to be different. They want to choose their ruler (of their type). The idea is not bad at all
In new constitution one of the points can be:
If a group (cast /color/geographic difference etc) of say 20,000 ppl (it is just my thinking it can be more or less) decides by a 60% majority in a unbiased referendum that they need a separate state within the Federal Govt., after fulfilling certain criteria (may be economic or something else) they can have their state within a year. What’s the problem with that? I am reading Sajha, may be from the beginning and I found that Nepali ppl want to be different . Madhesi wants to be rulled by Madhesi, Pahadi wants to be ruled by Pahadi, Gurung wants to be ruled by Gurung, If they want to be ruled by their like why should other ppl worry? By doing so Federal Nepal will have 30 to 40 states (my estimate)

To avoid this we need a statesman which we don’t have, so, let the ppl be free to choose their ruler. Let the ppl feel they are different than others. I do not know why some ppl trying to prove they are better than others, may be because it is easy to talk in a free forum.

to all the big ranters of free speech: Free speech doesn't mean your right to say whatever you want. iF it is then okay accepted. But why do we get the label of intolerance when we try to voice our disagreement against such "free speech of bigotry" while exercising our own free speech.
its like the muslims living in the west who preach hate, say kill jew and death to america nad israel all the time but when non-muslim critic them they either show violence or claim that they are victimized for being muslim.

Though madhesi demands may be genuine but spewing hate against pahade is not the solution.
