What is your religion? Why do you choose to be this religion? Also do you think the anti-conversion law should be changed in Nepal?

Andrew states"Of course Christians dont agree with islam but its afree society here and they have every right to express themselves as much as Christians. Of course Christians dont want to have people convert to islam because they believe its not a true religion. " Oh so you agree then, THAT CHRISTIANS DON'T LIKE MUSLIMS CONVERTING CHRISTIANS. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT HINDU'S OR MUSLIMS WOULD LIKE CHRISTIANS CONVERTING THEIR PEOPLE ? "Way to twist words and make stupid accusations against my beliefs. You already came on here angery against Christianity." i THOUGHT YOUR BELIEF WAS STRONG, COULD NOT BE SHAKEN BY ANYTHING ! IAM JUST MERELY RESTATING WHAT YOU SAID. I THOUGHT CHRISTIANS DID NOT BELIEVE IN NAME CALLING.

Bathroom dude, Please do not type in all caps. Its anoying. Christians did not start wars. Catholics did. Thats a big difference...evil people corrupt good teachings. even though Christians want people to get Christian, its up to the individual. If someone chooses islam over Christianity its their choice!! I can deal with that. But you obviously cant.

I am beginning to think that this thread is getting a little out of hand. Can't we talk about religion without trying to prove that all others who follow religions other than our own are biggest idiots in the world? Why this animosity towards each other? Aren't we supposed to work together to get rid of that? Let's face it. To each person, the religion that he or she belongs to is undoubtedly the greatest religion in the world. And there are non-believers or atheists too. But that does not make them any less human that the believers. As for the treatment of Christians in Nepal, I don't expect to be treated very nicely. For the very fact that Nepal is not a Christian nation. We will always be the 2nd class citizen when it comes to religion. However, things are improving. The government is beginning to recognize Christians and Muslims as well as Hindus and Buddhists. An employee gets a day off on the day of a major festival of his religion. The head of government sends out message felicitation on Christmas day, Eid and other minority religions. That's a welcome change. But still some level of persecution remains and I am sure that will go away too. It's just a matter of time. As for conversion laws, noone gives a hoot when a Hindu becomes a Buddhist or even a Muslim but if one is converted to a Christianity then there is a big hullabaloo. Why? Isn't that a double standard? Speaking on conversion, I am against forceful conversion or wrongful conversion. I have been told that there are some missionaries who convert people by giving them money or other material incentives. That is wrong. How can a person come to Christ if he or she does not invite Him from his heart. I once knew a person who converted to Christianity but did not know what the religion was all about. Such type of so-called missionaries must indeed be prosecuted. They are not real missionaries. However, if a person wants to convert on his own free will, then he should be allowed to do so. Christianity has been come under heavy artillery in this thread .. which is understandable because many nepalese still cannot stand Christians. However, earlier in this thread, I asked two questions to Hindu believers / scholars. Noone has yet provided me with the answers or even tried to do so. So before you point you fingers towards Christians or question the anomalies in Christianity, please answer these two questions: 1. Hinduism maintains that one has to be born a Hindu. One cannot convert into Hinduism. Why? However, if that is so, an orphan who is adopted by a Hindu couple ..how can you tell if he was born of a Hindu mom and a Hindu dad. How can you tell? 2. At Pashupatinath, only Hindus are allowed to enter. How can you tell whether someone is Hindu or not by looking at the person. I have entered the premises many times without anyone stopping me. If a Nepali Christian walks into the temple, how can you tell if he is not a Hindu? PLUS someone in this thread called Jesus a Pakhandi (a fraud). Do tell me why a Hindu god is always high on weed and his followers are also encouraged to do the same? Why are there Hindu gods who lust after their own daughter (Brahma going for Saraswati) or their own teacher's wife (Chandra going after Brihaspati's wife Tara)? Why is there a God who has an affair with someone else's wife (Krishna and Radha)? These are just examples. If we start going deep we can find anomalies in each and every religion. But with a certain point of view such anomalies can be justified. I am sure there are valid religious justifications for my queries on Hinduism. Similarly there are justificaitons for the socalled shortcomings of Christianity. Only a learned Christian scholar can properly justify such things (not me ... I don't even know many of the scriptures) Finally, folks, please stop picking on us Christians. We mean no harm to Hindus or Buddhists or others. We are looking for some "dharmik sahishnuta" that we used to read about in our textbooks when we were in school.

Catholics ARE christians. What are you talking about???? I am a product of a catholic school yet I was never approached by a single Father or a Sister to convert. I feel proud that it never happene, that they never tried to change our very "moldable" young minds. I presume you are a Protestant who believes that you will only go to Heaven if you accept Jesus as your savior. Your deeds mean nothing (even if they are good) if you don't accept jesus. I find this to be rather absurd! I see it like this: A good deed unless "sponsored" by God though Jesus is not a good deed. As the name says, Protestants arose because they protested against the Catholics of that time in France, England and spreading to Spain and Germany. And this new scripture is a direst result of that. If you read the history, you'll see how much blood has been spilled in the name of Christianity (not only against Muslims but by Catholics against Protestants).

see the point... xtsianity basically stood ahead because of its violent attrocities among other fellow commoners (who had nothing to do with relegion) in the past...In the name of Xtsianity, so much blood was spilled that the entire earth could have been plunged into it...But these xtsians yet kept on sticking to killing each other, hoping that jesus was always there to liberate them from their sins... so Xtsian guys..go ahead, kill a nearby passer and ask for forgiveness to your christ.. so Xtsian guys..go ahead, rape your neighbor and ask for forgiveness to your christ.. ..i am sure christ will say, OK

Catholics are a branch off of the Christian church who bcame totally corrupt. if you read real history instead of your public school filth you would understand reality. Many catholics are Christian people but they dont realize their church is full of corruption all throughout history. When martin luther wrote the Bible in regular language so peasents could read it Christianity startd to get back on track. That is why in Europe at that time it was called the dark ages. I love how you completely ignore everything I say and still think your right. Duarti is right. I posted this thread just to see what kind sof religions people are and your type of person has to argue and bash my faith because you dont like it. YOU ANTI CHRISTIAN PEOPLE started this fight. Not me. I am simply defending myself. You are completely arrogant and self righteous.

You people have chruistianity all wrong. No one is allowed to rape and kill. If you do that you are probably not a Christian. But that doesnt mean someone who has done those things in the past cant be forgiven and then become a Christian later. I guess having differnt gods who dont forgive you for anything and all you do is please them makes it difficult to understand grace. With the belief of doing good to make you acceptable to a god gives you the idea that you are pure because of your own doing which makes you pretty arrogant to think you make yourself perfect.

This is a passage from the Bible: 1 John 1:5-10 Fellowship with God 5 Now this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, (H) and there is absolutely no darkness in Him. (I) 6 If we say, "We have fellowship (J) with Him," and walk in darkness, (K) we are lying and are not practicing [c] the truth. (L) 7 But if we walk in the light (M) as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus (N) His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say, "We have no sin," (O) we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive (P) us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say, "We have not sinned," we make Him a liar, and His word (Q) is not in us.

here is some more 1 john 2:3-11 God's Commands 3 This is how we are sure (D) that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands. (E) 4 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," without keeping His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, (F) truly in him the love of God is perfected. [b] This is how we know we are in Him: (G) 6 the one who says he remains in Him (H) should walk just as He walked. 7 Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command, (I) but an old command that you have had from the beginning. The old command is the message (J) you have heard. 8 Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away (K) and the true light (L) is already shining. (M) 9 The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother (N) is in the darkness until now. 10 The one who loves his brother (O) remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. [c] 11 But the one who hates his brother (P) is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, (Q) and doesn't know where he's going, (R) because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Can't you see I feel your pain? I've got Jesus running through my veins In this hopeless life that's turned on you Give yourself to me, I'll help you through I feed off your unanswered fear When visions of life's end appear Hand over your will and then you'll see Now get on your knees and worship me I am posting this lyrics from Black Label Society for teh second time. Can someone tell me why?

4 Everyone who commits sin also breaks the law; [b] sin is the breaking of law. 5 You know that He was revealed so that He might take away sins, (F) [c] and there is no sin in Him. (G) 6 Everyone who remains in Him (H) does not sin; (I) everyone who sins has not seen Him or known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you! The one who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 The one who commits sin is of the Devil, for the Devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God (J) was revealed (K) for this purpose: to destroy the Devil's works. 9 Everyone who has been born of God (L) does not sin, because His [d] seed (M) remains in him; he is not able to sin, because he has been born of God. 10 This is how God's children?and the Devil's children?are made evident. 13 Do not be surprised, brothers, if the world hates (Q) you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. (R) 15 Everyone who hates his brother (S) is a murderer, (T) and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. Love in Action 16 This is how we have come to know love: He laid down His life (U) for us. (V) We should also lay down our lives for our brothers. (W) 17 If anyone has this world's goods (X) and sees his brother in need (Y) but shuts off his compassion (Z) from him?how can God's love reside in him? (AA) 18 Little children, we must not love in word or speech, but in deed and truth; (AB) 19 that is how we will know we are of the truth, (AC) and will convince our hearts in His presence, 20 because if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts and knows all things. (AD) 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn [us] we have confidence before God, 22 and can receive whatever we ask from Him because we keep His commands (AE) and do what is pleasing in His sight. 23 Now this is His command: that we believe in the name (AF) of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He commanded us. 24 The one who keeps His commands remains in Him, (AG) and He in him. And the way we know that He remains in us (AH) is from the Spirit (AI) He has given us.
