Inspired by few awesome pieces, & a sudden surge; a random thoughts in oblivion; I decided to form in words. I hope you guys like it; but am open to critisim, constructive if you'd please. It may be the only piece or perhaps few mores will follow. I doubt it'll find it's way to the end. But then again, the most difficult & thus important thing is to start; where it ends is entirely another matter. Also it could be something different from my everyday obsequiousness/sycophancy; albeit with/for fun. So why not? Consider it as fiction or fact, it remains a reminiscence, a leaf out of my past. As it feels, my imaginary past. ***********-----------------------------------------------------------************ I was visiting that city after quite some time. I don't know why that place always felt like home away from home. Hundreds of miles away, without anyone to answer to, free to do, act and explore what we see/feel & be ourselves unlike incognito picture we often have to present of ourselves, for the fear of rejection, failure, or simply because we feel disguise is the wise thing to do. I felt like I know those people, that city. That was not just any other place, but the one where I understood, or so I 'think' a lot about friendship, college, parties, drugs, people, and life & yes?love. Sad as it may be, it taught me, with time, like everything else, love dies. And I am so happy it does. It taught me, there is nothing more powerful in this world, except time; not even love. Oh! Well, where was I? Yeah that place....& those times.....................

La la Yaha chai jane bahar, hehe.:p ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I guess I never took that second chance or she never gave me one. Having thrown away my first, a second was something she was unwilling to give. Or she did. Or perhaps time had passed us by. I sat exactly where I did then and looked beside me. I could see her. And then I lost. I smiled. I felt a lump building inside my chest. I got up and saw that place for one last time, knowing I would never see that place again. It is weird how strange places have emotional attachment with you. Or maybe I had the 'infamous potion' too much. "-------------------------- Continue..... I wanted to get my work done and get back home, but separating from that place for perhaps the last time was anything but easy for me. Call it the magic or aroma of my past, or whatever; I kept on holding back. I wanted to spend few more days there, especially since I knew that could me my last for many many years to come. And also, maybe I wanted to have one last encounter with the ghost of my past. I often used to hang out with my new Indian friends, guys who were brothers of our 'then' Indian friends, and few Nepalese. Not having one's friends sometimes can ruin the moments. I am not the one to go gaga over Indians but neither do I have any animosity towards them. But the friends we had then we very different, very unlike a typical Indian as we might imagine. Of course there were few rotten ones, like everywhere else. Besides most of them were from another city like us. They were good company. Helpful and fun, it was amazing that I just knew them, for few weeks. 'Ruman' (an Indian guy who I knew from before & the only one remaining of my Indian friends from another city) asked me to stay until at least Christmas and new years. I duly obliged. Each day would pass like the one before. Sometimes I used to hang out in my ex-college, but the faces were different. Samosha, 'wada' in 'buns' and 'Mazza and Thumbs up' were all the same, but the people I shared with were different. I must confess, it was much livelier when we were there. Ahhhh.....to say that it was the most happening college would be an understatement. Indeed our college had good reputation; nevertheless it was nothing less than a circus. Although people knew each other by face, everyone was their own man. A free spirit. As I munched my 'Bun Samosha' gulping with 'Mazza' before I took my 'vitamins', sitting outside the canteen and try to relocate few of the old faces, a few and far between hi's and hey's, I remembered the first time we met. It was in this very canteen. She had walked in from that very door with her 'Nepali' friend. We sat there for sometime. Me, Shama, Anurag and her. After they left, I had told Anurag, "Chwaak cha hai tyo?" (Shess very pretty, isn't she?). He said, "Cha ni M**I. Maile dekheko thiye tyaslai pahila college ma." "Maile pani dekheko jasto lagthio pahila. Maybe last year." - I said. As the days passed, we started to meet often. Everyday. Almost. I had a lot passes of different parties. Parties over there rocked. Even though I was not THAT close with many Indian friends who mattered, we as a group were very close with many of them. Some of my friends used to be very close with them. Thus, I was getting the passes left, and right. I gave most of them to the guys I lived with, and their friends. However, I kept few passes of a new club some 25km from the city. It was supposed to have the best crowd. Open and closed stage/floor with pools and other stuffs. And besides it was being organized by 'Anshuman bhai' and 'Raghawan bhai?, we had a decent chance of getting few extra pass needed to get in without paying 700 and1000 for stags and couples respectively. We were in good terms with them. As it was understood that we would be totally wasted, we hired two Tata Sumo and drivers. Four girls living in a close by house were to join us. I reckon "Vikrant", Ruman's brother was kind of trying to get under skirt of one of them (Forgot the name). Lest I go on and on about this one party, let me just say it rocked. Thousands of people/great crowd, nice music, beautiful fireworks, but it is amazing how a person can feel lonely among thousands; literally. And also I should have known better than going to our vehicle to get my jacket as apparently Vikrant and that girl were having their own private social. Oh did I tell you that I had come here before with her at this venue/club, When it was being made. Half of it was done, and they had already started the bowling alleys, swimming pools and canoeing (like canoeing). More on that later.

***************************************************************** One of those days, we had decided to go get some nice 'herbal aka Kaya'. There was this slum in that city where we would at times, venture to get some of those. I was little apprehensive as we had some past malicious history there. It had been quite some time, but nevertheless sometimes you can never be careful enough. What had happened then was................. Karma, Tashi, Anurag, Subhash and I had gone to get some of those jadibuti. Subhas and I had gone inside a house where they sell those. It was about 100 - 150 fts. inside the slum. After getting three packets of those ( one pack was Rs. 35. and the other two was Rs.50 supposed to be better) we returned. After coming out Anurag asked me to show him those. "Dekha ta kasto cha. Yo budi le kahile kai hangai hanga bhako dincha" , Anurag said. I took those out and gave him the neatly packet small plastic pouches. As it turns out one of the Rs.50ne was anything but better than Rs.35 one. "a herna feri yesto decha. Yo pachas jane hoina?" Anurag. "Khai khai M**I dekhata ta yeta" - Tashia and Karma wanted to have a look. "Yo jathi budi le jahile ni yestai garcha. Arko linu jaam aija." Karma. "Ta haru yehi baas, ma ra Subhas nai janchu, feri tyasle aru lai sati dindaina. Hami nai janu parcha." - Me. We went in and that old lady was watching TV in her black and white box and cursing at her 5-6 yr old son. Subhas said, "Aree yeh to pachass wala nahin hein mai, kya yaar tum bhi. Doosara wala do." "Jaab meine diya tha to thik tha. Aba kuin aye ho? Agli baar aana tab dungi". We tried to reason her out but to no avail. That old lady, refused to exchange. Anurag had sneaked in by that time and joined our conversation. And shortly after Tashi joined us. " Yo Ch**e budi lai bajaidiu?" "Oye 'maai' dekho dena hein to doo warne hum leke jayenge. Paisa diya hein na tumko." -- Tashi. "To kya?" , "Bhago yaha se, Abhi bulaawu kya logo ko?" At that very moment Subhash tried to snatch the bag with her herbals and take the packet and she started shouting. Her husband and elder son came in from somewhere and started shouting and swearing. "Hyaa M**I ke gareko chadde jau, ahile muji slum ma cha hami." ? Anurag. "Ho M**I jau aija Subhash, tihar ma ghar janu agi yo budi ko jhola nai Uthayera jaula, aijaaa", I said. But the man in his mid forties did not stop shouting, and in fear of getting surrounded by many slum people (that was a scary thought), Tashi hit him on face. His elder son was frantic and made loud noises and we could hear some noises coming our way. We did not know what to do and I picked up an empty plate and slammed it on his face. In no time there were 5-6 other people from slum shouting and coming to us. As we ran out side we saw into Karma who was held by two people. " Yee Karma Bhaag. " As he saw four of us running towards him and he swiftly got rid of one of the guy and hit another. As we ran past those two guys and one another guy. Anurag and Subhash hit them and started to kick them. Oye jatha haru hin chadaiii samatcha M**I. I grabbed Anurags hand and jerked him and ran towards the bike. We had one Kinetic and two Bikes. Karma jumped on kinetic and off he went. Subhash took another bike and in the spur of the moment, even before I could start the bike Anurag and subhash were behind me. Thus we literally zoomed from there in 'light speed'. We all stopped in nearby tea shop. After we sat in and gathered our breath, and laughed I realized that my buttons were open of my shirt. And then Anurag said, " Tero ta shirt chaytiyeko cha arm ko side ma." "What?" It was a disaster. Suddenly I could graphically imagine the mental torture I would have to bear. She had given me that shirt couple of weeks ago. I could see her nagging me, asking nay demanding where that shirt is and why I no longer wear it these days. It is amazing how they remeber tiniest detail of anything and everything. Often my friends would take my cloths and vice versa, but I had already received a stern warning that whatever the case maybe, I am never to let anyone wear or use the stuffs she gave to me. Now I was in trouble. I knew try as I may, she would never believe me if I say it is NOT with any one of my friends, but is lost when I gave it to dry cleaners. But at least I had an excuse. What else could I have done? Hear the same nagging for weeks which she would pick on every non existent fault of mine? Sometimes it appeared to me that females enjoy arguing, nagging, and irritating us. I wonder what they get out of it. Perhaps it is their way of seeking peace. I had long decided that I would just shut my ear and smile. What was the point anyways? None of our reason made any sense to them, whereas theirs ALWAYS made sense. Somehow. Always. Any thing we say or do, god forbid, if it's even an inch away from the insurmountable height that they want us to climb, and behave or do 'nice' things that Reema, Rita, Tina, Meena?s boyfriends do/did. Heaven help us if it's remotely asymmetrical, boy, would they have a feast or what? Thus, keeping my mental and psychological health in mind, I had almost mastered the solution on ?mukh ma pani rakhne? and ? ek kaan le sunne arko le udaune?. And I laid rest to the ghost of that shirt and carried on. Anyways, when I went there after a year and a half, it just so happened that they bought the herbals from another dealer about 50 fts away from that place. That was a relief. I didn't have to loose anything.

( This ain't the Rs. 50 one. Common' maai' ( old lady) give us another one.) "Jaab meine diya tha to thik tha. Aba kuin aye ho? Agli baar aana tab dungi".( When I gave you earlier, it was all right. Why are you here now? Come next time and I'll give)We tried to reason her out but to no avail. (Shall I hit this old lady?) ( ( Hey 'maai' if you are giving us, then it's fine, otherwise we will 'take' it. We paid for this.) "To kya?" , "Bhago yaha se, Abhi bulaawu kya logo ko?" ( So what? Get lost or I shall call for help.) ---------- Hyaa M**I ke gareko chadde jau, ahile muji slum ma cha hami." ? Anurag. ( Damn. What are ya doing? Do you know we'r inside the slum right now? ) "Ho M**I jau aija Subhash, tihar ma ghar janu agi yo budi ko jhola nai Uthayera jaula, aijaaa", I said. (Yeah Subash, lest leave. When we'll leave for Nepal in Tihar, we'll take everything in her bag.) ------ " Yee Karma Bhaag. " (Run Karma run ala run Forrest run) ---- " Tero ta shirt chaytiyeko cha arm ko side ma." ( Your shirt is torn.) ---------------------------------------------------------- Phewwwwwwwwwwwww. :) Jagaar chalechi ta ekchin mai auda raicha. hoki padne manche haru lost in traslation ho? LOL. worst still padne manche nai chaina ki ke ho?:( Hehe, IndisGuise:)

"LOL InDiguise jyu...hehehehe.... nice one there... so u learned it the hard way to keep your mouth closed .................always... but gals are right most of the times....." ------>>>>Rythm, yep yep I learned it the hard way. In the process I lost some of my grey cells too. Yes, I agree, girls are right MOST of the times. Need I say more? :) And thanks for you inputs rythm jiu, rest assured, I enjoy your comment immnesly :) & hope to get some more hai ta. Yep I'll keep on writing. Hai ta. -------------------------- Raayan ji, I am unworthy of such praise, nevertheless I am humbled. Sajha has many wonderful stories, anecdotes so on and so forth. Kahile kahi yeso tyai padda jagar ra josh aucha lekhnu. I shall however continue to write hai. Heram aja bholi ma arko post garchu. ------------------------------------ "arguing, nagging, irritating ................SHE will shout at u coz she cant see ur suffering.. ........hidden loves come out in form of irritation(in short) Ruina, hahahah this is new to me. So girls tend to shout at guys coz they can not see our suffering. LOL. Hmmmmm, interesting. Lemme paraphrase some quote with a twist. If suffering brings "shouting", I would rather remain numb.:) J/k. "love ho ali ali jealousy ta bhaihalcha anii..rita,tina,meena ko bf jastai bhayeko bhayee hunthiyo bhaneehalcha nii.afterall all they want is bit care, love, understanding from HIM..... ----> And I thought the list would go on and on and on. Prove me wrong? :p Lala arko dose dinchu mero ra tyasko katha ko. ;) hai hai hai. --------------------- Hami I found it strongly amusing how you strongly believed the location was poona when I have not even hinted let alone name a single place of the 'that' city. I do not want to shake your belief my friend, but I tend to love the city with gardens. Now rest is for you to figure out :). --------------------------- Thanks to eone once again. I will soon post another part. (Possibly today) I hope yeta uta randomly lekheko chu. Confuse nahoss. La ta ekkai chin lai bida pau. :) IndisGuise:)
