Congrats to new idea and opinions. But claiming something so large to refute ideas of well established needs some documentation or proofs. Otherwise, its called bullshit. He has some ideas and may be a scientist but other people who don't know about science please be disciplined in your areas before bragging so much about him till we vomit...

Thanks newlynew. But I guess I was looking for some detail on what he was proposing. What I have seen so far just don't make sense, I am surprised he even got a ticket to go there. A formula, with no logical/mathematical or empirical proof by itself, is nothing. I can come up with a new formula:

E=MC2/ U.

Where U is a function of size of body, for mass > 1 atom U=1, for mass< 1 atom U=some constant. This explains why quantum objects don't follow general laws.

Kiddo: As I said before, anyone can go into these conferences. You may go to a trade exhibition but that hardly makes you Laxmi Mittal.

Going to conference is , a lot of times, very trivial. If you are from a third world country and don't require financial assistance, it is not that hard. Sometimes all it take is that you apply for it.

when I was kid there was science exhibition or something like that in Trichandra campus.I visited the exhibition. Following stalls were very interesting in that exhibition.

1. You can type Nepali in computer: there was a gentleman Mr. Shakya, who I think was computer engineer or software engineer had made possible to type Nepali from English keyboard. I typed my name, I was very much excited. Next day there was news in Gorkhapatra "Nepali computer". My brothers were laughing at the news. I was thinking why my brothers have teasing attitude towards that news? Now I know.
2. A young guy (I guess he was around 20) had developed a method by which you can produce soap from human stool, I was very much interested and requested him to explain. He told me that we eat lots of fat ( probably he was referring to momo, in general what I believe is fat intake of Nepalese is not that high )  and lots of it come out with stool undigested, use caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) to make salt of fatty acids (traditionally soaps are sodium or potassium salt of fatty acids). he was saying if govt uses his technique we dont need to imports soaps from other countries.
3. in  one of the stall there was a Nepali made tempo( three wheeler) which can accommodate 12 people comfortably.

They all were complaining that govt is not listening to them, govt is bad. I was also thinking govt should  help these people. All these stalls were able to make big headlines in news paper.

Later  I met a guy who claimed he was studying engineering or something in India, he built a small machine which when fitted in  shoes can produce electricity. According to him, It was smashing news in Indian media and BATA approached him. He denied to provide the BATA the technology then next day he started to receive threat calls so he fled to Nepal. He applied for a grant so that he can produce those machine commercially but govt denied. He was angry with govt. This was also published in gorkhapatra and other newspaper of that time. All of them disappeared.

I also went through news of related to this thread. this is nothing but over hyped headliner from a news paper. Judging from the experience and standard of Nepali journalism it may be a advertise fort he school (this is the time for +2 admission isnt it). If you have money it is not that difficult to get a headline in newspapers.

In order to say  Einstein and Newtons theory wrong, we need to ask  which theory?? on what level?? You need either mathematical formula which can explain the natural phenomena or the experimental proof. they understand that they may be wrong in matter anti matter reaction and behavior only not on the level the guy is claiming.

It reminds me my plus two days, one guy was clever after the chemistry class the guy ask us what is "H" we all answered hydrogen. He said no, H is a  8th letter in Latin alphabet which we also used as a symbol for hydrogen he was true.

I have seen two kind of comments on this subject, not just in Sajha but other forums in the internet:

1. People who give kudos to the kid from this poor nation to even think this way.

2. People who condemn and blame the media for the hype.

I am looking for a third kind:

3. People who can post what his theory is.

I think we have beaten the horse by repeating the no 2 over and over again. Let's see if somebody comes up with no 3 (and maybe then we can go back and repeat no 2  ).

Contacting him [Rijan] through various means didn't help at all. Despite of assurances of getting replied back.

I also contacted the physics professors in kathmandu, who might have had looked into this thing more closely. They claim, their is no solid publication, neither academic paper, or logical explanation of what he is sa...ying. Neither did they get anything when trying to get something through personal interaction after a may be baseless media hype. I was replied, the guy is trying to mislead with no solid content.

Aren't there any physicist or physics professor in nepal to check his theory or formula ? Same in nepali education system where they are roaming about newtons theory when world is trying for ,time travel and atomic energy, artificial lungs, heart,kidney,legs  and one day microchipped brain.

He (Fool) came to conference doesnt mean he beat einstein or newton? The scientists are trying  to get theory of everything (TOE) combining major universal forces gravitional, electromagnetism, strong nuclear and weak nuclear force and this kid, 16, whatever the heck trying to prove about newtons theory being wrong which is 400 years old and still every scientist worships newton for paving fundamentals of physics. I do not know every theories of newton but what have been already proved and accepted in by series of experiments and studies cannot be proved wrong. Even einstein was wrong when he tried to combine two different forces electromagnetism and gravitational forces introducing cosmic constant but almost every theories are still fundament of modern physics.

This kid needs to know its too late to call Newtons or Einsteins theories were wrong. When  einstein published Theory about  general relativity in 1905, his theory were accepted only in 1921 when they were able to see lunar ecplise and bending of light by 1.67 arch second ( source biography of Einstein). After a century of experiments, facts, study,nobody can change those  natural theories which are universal. It does not matter who says then, and now we have apply force in the ground to move forward, light photons are affected by gravity ( black holes).

Oh man, the main problem in nepal I think is  lack of resources and experiment. I have been to those conventions in pulchowk and some other colleges. They have shown preety geneius works but the creations are not original ( remote plane is not made by Hari shyam its somebody else idea which he read in book and followed instruction or assembled things same way which was originally invented). I can assemble a car but  James watt invented steam engine. There are colleges in nepal where teaching is based on the books already written( not in the sense these books are wrong). Nobody gets chance to explore or reasearch in Nepal. Even in india scientists are funded by government and miltary runs those research and continue reasearch..but our country all focking army- drunk bastards who go cabins, professors-own college, students- bookworms, crazy kid is overated and media-hyped for with the headline saying " 16 yrs old kid challenging Einstien and Newton". Only people in nepal might have  beleived because that kid said he beat them, no focking body who have passed high school will accept he did so, if he really proved wrong he would not have to run different conference trying to prove his theory right, he would already attraction of freaking world.

really good reading sajha basi, "book open the world" this is just a forum, hence sparetime. go to the best place to read. In Nepal, mandala book store, TU pustakalaya, swyambhunath temple or whereever u can focus. This guy should first realize Newton and Einstein cannot be proven wrong, especially not with dimensionally incorrect equation. We all know both of their theories are not wrong they are only incomplete As long as the school paid all his expenses its fine otherwise feel sorry for his parents for the financial burden. This kid went through a lot at a tender age, hope he has learned few things as well. Who knows he might be the one who provides physics with that critical breakthrough scientists all around the world have been looking for past 50 years or so.

For us to be talking smack about the kid, don't we need to see what he is saying?? That's all I am asking. Theory doesn't mean those pythagorean theorem and auxilliaries that you memorized in 8th grade. I just wanted to read what he is proposing, that's all.

Arahat, sab_nepaliko_sathi; thanks for the post. I guess you guys have answered my question...basically this kid doesn't have much of anything to show other than one liner formula, hence he is hesitant on sharing his theories.

THe fundamental thing he has to understand is that formulae don't get invented by imaginations. They primarily come up after solving series of equations that are already established. Otherwise, you have to derive equations to prove it right or wrong, just because you feel it is right doesn't make it right. Besides, without the basic knowledge of Calculus (forget fourier or laplace etc that Newton was a master in) I doubt he could nullify their theories.

Yeah I know you wanted to know is what he is proposing  and my answer to you was if you run after every funny proposal you will be wasting your time. It is better if we are selective, we should know when we need to dismiss  and when we need to be serious.
Any student of science/math who is in university will understand immediately that the claim that kid is making has no gravity in itself.
