Thank you all for your comments. I wasn't expecting very many people to respond and am pleasantly surprised by the number of responses.

Chapter 3 follows. As with previous chapters, I expect there will be typos, gramatical errors and sloppy sentence construction that slipped through the revision process. I will continue to edit this and previous chapters as needed to rectify  such mistakes.

you hit the right chord this time. i realize that it's neither an extraordinary saga of some smarty pants nor a very ordinary one of an average. you found the common meeting point. congratz.  many of us readers can relate to the struggle and the nature of the characters and that's why the overwhelming reception you're getting and you deserve every bit of it. way to go..

Oh and I thought i somehow knew where this story is leading towards and where the characters are going to meet through my gut feeling until you introduced this fifth character Neeti...someone's gonna get hurt really bad I can tell you :P

Great flow from atlanta - kathmandu - b'desh - houston and back to kathmandu again. it has been a  fun thus far with a new character in  each chapter. "ridiculously awesome" narration- the way they say it in ESPN.

exactly my sentiments nplus2us.  the way gazer has introduced characters and put detail in everything including location, status, education is amazing.  great work.  i wish i could get to read like this every day.  not to mention, this guy know a lot of information about different location, education system.. as well..

Sajhagazer, you always manage to make me nostalgic with your stories. You are such a terrific storyteller. Your story remind me of a friend.

I remember my Indian friends saying "you don't look like a Nepali" It was so annoying..

"unless of course you happen to be that flopped story teller roaming the pages of  Sajha whose existence on earth is dependent on finding out and committing to memory the most peculiar habits of others"

Hehehehe....not meaning to undermine the sense of humor of those living around me but this is the funniest sentence I have heard this year!

Great job and the piece is worth publising. However I would like to comment on some points esp about Ashim.You've said '' His dad wanted him to pass  his MBBS, sit for the first part of the USMLE exams in Bangkok and then do his residency in the US. ''  Can u specify why his dad wanted him to take his usmle in Bangkok? coz  step 1 and step 2 ck can be taken from any places like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and even Nepal ( though the centre was closed for some time).And one can't do residency after finishing the first part. He/she has to atleast pass step 1, step 2 ck and step 2 cs. Step 3 is neded if one wants to enter in H1B.  You've also said" he into a graduate medical program where he was to prepare for the remaining parts of the US Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)." There is no such program such as graduate medical program for preparing usmle. Once foreign medical graduates come to USA, they take cs and step 3 and apply for residency.
        Another thing you have written is" He was accepted into a residency program in a medically under-served area three hours from Houston. His employers were willing to sponsor his H-1B visa and  if he performed well, they promised, within a year or two, to put him on a fast track program for his green card."In residency programs, its predetermined that whether the program will sponser H1B or J1. It doesnt depend upon the willingness of the employers but upon the rule of the residency program. Some programs do sponser green cards in residency itself but again, its known beforehand and not decided based upon the performance of the resident. When a doctor finishes residency and goes to job, then his employer has right to sponser H1b or greencard straightaway.
          Yet another point,you've said" she had to work during the weekends to pay for her college unlike he who had his employers paying for his college." Again, employers don't  pay for college in residency. Residency means paid training. You get paid. You get biweekly salary. You have to do regular work as other doctors do but u are in training. You dont go to the college and pay fees.
            Lastly, You've written "Thus ended six years of Ashim's and Leena's relationship." You had said that their affair began when he was in Delhi. Then he went to a medical school ( 5.5 years), took usmle and entered residency ( about 2 years).And their relationship ended when he was may be in his first or second year of his residency ( 1-2 years). This leads to about 8.5 -9.5 years plus they might be going around atleast for 6 months to 1 year before he went to Bangladesh. Then, How come their relationship ended after 6 years??
           I know its hard to include all  the things in specific pattern and its impossible to know the details about every field but I just wanted to highlight these points.Hope my pointing out will be helpful if u ever decide to publish this story.

marygold, you are right about MBBS preparation and exam steps.  i know writer will comment on this, but i also would like to tell you that not all readers want to know so much specific about steps of exams for USMLE and other stuffs related to residency in usa.  prolly you are a MBBS who is doing residency here, but not many people know about all the steps about this.  i guess writer wanted to give some general idea about residency and USMLE exams rather than going into detail on this.  the story is not based on residency here, its based on different part of human life and relationships. 

as far as bangkok is concerned, i think nepali used to go to bangkok before we have test center in Nepal.  at least that is what i heard when i was young.  you are right about J1 and H1 visa and also right that residency is not like graduate study where you need to study and pass the test.  they do have some presentations and minor tests though, right?  basically they are paid for work while learning and work their butt off.  its not easy to know about every field, but i still was amazed with writer knowledge about locations, and education different education background.  great work.

Jhyalincha,   neither am I nitpicking nor am i trying to be an editor.I already said that I did like the story very much and eagerly waiting for the remaining parts to be posted..I greatly appreciate Saja gazer's ability.I just wanted to highlight few points and I don"t think that it gave a sense of attacking the story negatively.Don't we give suggestions to our family and friends? I think its good to enrich a person with appropriate informations if u have it and u think it would make change in someone's effort.I can nowhere write like Sajha Gazer and really applaud his latent. Please don't take it negatively. I could have sent him an email but as Iam new to this site I didn't know that we could do so.I would like to apologize if it hurt anyone's feelings.And Saza Gazer, please post the remaining parts soon. We are eagerly waiting for it.
