Can somebody tell me the easy process to apply for Canadian PR? Is there any way of applying directly to Canadian Government without going through consultancy? So that consultancy fees can be avoided?

Himalaya 178 I did 3 years BBS (Bachelor in Business Administration) in TU Nepal, Worked in a private bank for more than 5 years. After that I completed one semester of Undergraduate studies in Bachelor of Business Admin in USA and then transferred to another University for MBA in US. Right now I have completed 12 credit hours of MBA. Is it good to apply for PR right now or wait until I finish my MBA?

Chyame Kancha, Just send them the "attested" copies of your certificates or transcripts first. You can notarize here in the US as well. Go to Town Hall and notarize. I am pretty sure a lots of TU people have done it before. They will answer you. Yunil, Visit the following link and evaluate yourself. Make sure you check on "Obtained a three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship (other than university) and completed at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies" in Education Section. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/Education.asp But if I were you, I would wait till I finish MBA and get more points.

Yunil, If you can score more than 67 points. You can apply now. At the same time since you have already completed 12 hrs out of 36 for your MBA I will stay in US and finish this up. I know that point system will not change ( pass mark ) because they raised it up about 2 years ago to 75 and they could not get enough immigrants then they lowered it down again. Anyway if you are legal in US, I would not suggest you NOT to go to Canada.

my pride, I didn't mean to say there is no jobs in environmental Science period but they called him for an interview. I don't know what my friend does now but that doesnot mean to be negative for you. You might be smarter than him. but I still say that if you can find a job here with H1 sponsor please stay in US

I think they call for interview if they want to verify things they are doubt of, such as your English/French ability or education. However, when they call for interview, I heard they discuss about the job opportunity in Canada in his/her major field. My Pride, you also evaluate yourself through that website and apply it. MS degree helps you more in getting more points. Himalaya, your said, "Anyway if you are legal in US, I would not suggest you NOT to go to Canada." Are you already in Canada? I hear it's very difficult to get a jobs in Canada.. living expenses are too high.. too high taxes... I hear all these negative things about Canada. What are the PROS and CONS of moving to Canada? I am thinking of moving there very soon.

I did for 2 years and I'm back to US now. Its hard to find a job and are in limited cities (Toronto comes the first on the list) if you are in Ontario you have to pay 7 % GST and 8% PST as sales Tax. Living expenses is preety high and jobs pays less than here. You guys might have heard about FREE Health. it was but not anymore. Now its on income Bracket. i.e they will deduct certain amount depending on your income. Just like we pay for insurence here. Car insurence is very HIGH ( almost 170/month for a 1994 Honda Accord although I drove for 6 years in US). Gas price was 85 cents/liter back in 2004.Weather wise it starts snowing in mid Dec and won't end till Mid April. they don't have Spring and they call it Winter Break like spring Break here . Looking at all thse you make your own decission. If you want to visit Canada as a Tourist you would love it but move there to reside makes your life miserable. Its my though and anyone can add

Himalaya, thanks for your reply. It sounds very discouraging. Well, I did all this for the peace of mind. At one point, I also realized I wasted money and time in this PR thing, which might not be worthwhile. Since we lived in the US, we tend to compare all the comforts we have in the US. My only question is, are all immigrants or Nepali दुखी in Canada? You must be extra-ordinary to get a white-collar job there? What are the chances of getting student loan as a canadian PR? I would appriciate your answer. Thanks,

Nirvana and Sukul Gunda, I'm not trying to be negative or trying to discourage you all but its the fact. You will feel the difference once you moved to canada from US. But freshly coming from Nepal you don't feel that way. Its NOT hard to get a student loan at all. I didn't wait till I become a citizen, instead I HIT the Dv while I was in canada and came back to US.

Himalaya, You're lucky! I never cared about US gc when it was easy to get. Now, i want it when it's too difficult. Hope I will also hit that big dv jackpot this year. Biruwa, If you're filing canada gc, don't send fbi repory yet. Just send police report from Nepal. Send them FBi report when embassy asks you. They will ask you for medical and fbi at the same time.
