What Nepal must do to protect Border problem with India?

We need to use: Visa systems

Nepal must build boundry walls. It does not matter how much costly or how long it takes. It must be done by Nepalese people for security and peace.

What do you people thinks about?

You have to take care your COUNTRY, or Nobody will do it for you.

That is the empty in mind and soul of Nepalese people. That is key problem of Majority Nepalese who work in Nepali government offices and political parties.

In Nepal, villages and cities are flooding because of Indian closed all Koshi, Karnali, Gandhaki Water Dam doors.

So it will protect Indian cities and villages by flooding but Nepali villages and cities sink in deep water like this.

When India needs water at summer they open all door of water dams, so they Indian get enough water irrigation for farming where Nepalese farmer do not get enough water for irrigation.

When Indian do not need water at monsoon season (rainy time), they close all door of water dams, so they can protect Indian villages and cities by over flow of water. But Nepali suffers heavy lost every year.

Nepalese politicians and Leaders do not even raise single issues of this topic.

It is bad treatment and illegal action by Indian government toward Nepal.

It is one the many border problems between Indian and Nepal.

It is Nepal betrayed by Indian.

It is Indian domination.

I also hear about this kind of treat to Nepal by India.

India is never treats Nepal as a Friend, Neighbor, Brotherhood and Peaceful nation.

Buddha's Birthplace Nepal Threatened by Indian Water Dams:

News from The Associated Press.

KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) -- Nepal has asked India to stop building a dam that threatens to flood Buddha's birthplace.

Nepal formally requested India to "stop the construction of the barrage,'' Minister for Water Resources Bijaya Gachchedar said Tuesday.

Four months ago, India began building the Rassiyal-Khurda-Lautan dam across the Danav River, just 655 feet from the Nepal-India border south of Lumbini.

Lumbini, 170 miles southwest of Nepal's capital of Katmandu, is where Buddha was said to have been born more than 26 centuries ago as Gautama Siddhartha. UNESCO, the United Nations' cultural arm, has recognized Lumbini as the birthplace of Buddha and declared it a World Heritage Site.

The dam is meant to block and manage the flow of river water, mainly for irrigation, Indian officials have said.

The 20-foot high dam has come under fire from Buddhist scholars and Nepalese political parties. They accuse Hindu-dominated India of violating international laws that bar such constructions within five miles of an international border.

"The construction of this barrage is a well-designed conspiracy of India to inundate the birthplace of Lord Buddha and create another fake Lumbini somewhere in the Indian territory,'' said lawmaker Gokarna Bista of the United Marxist Leninist Communist Party of Nepal.

India has long claimed the actual birthplace of Buddha is in India and not Nepal. However, archeologists discovered in 1996 a commemorative pillar placed there by the Indian Emperor Ashoka in 249 B.C. that marked the precise location.

UNESCO has said that Lumbini is one of the holiest places of one of the world's great religions, and its remains contain important evidence about the nature of Buddhist pilgrimage centers from a very early period.

what is your purpose in building the bounderies in nepal. are you trying to keep the indians off the boundries in entering nepal. remember, where there is a wish there will always be a will. Khane Maanche ko Muukh Jungaa lea Cheakcha.

who is supporting financially to build this boundry, is your great great grandfather going to give you money. Lets not think of building boundries, let think of stabalizing the country first.

Of course building a wall is not a bad idea, but the question is for financial support for which we again should ask to India or other countries.

Why not possible to build wall or implement VISA system?

Have you ever pay TAX in Nepal? Ask yourself why you did not?

Have you ever contribute to anything to Nepal? Why you did not?

Did your father, brother, sister and yourself build building at kathmandu?

Ask yourself how did your buy land and build building in Kathmandu?

You are happy to do bribery, illegal commission, all kind of corruption and crime as well as put country into trouble. When people raise voice for protect country and save true democracy that gives you head ache and pain on your butt.

Are you Nepali? Are you born in India? Did you get Nepali citizenship by bribery?

Lots of question pop-up?

You have heart, mind and soul, everything is possible.

You do not need Indian help as like India did help you to do bribery, corruption and crimes in Nepal.

Learn from historical Top proverb:

Napoleon Bonaparte: ?Nothing impossible, impossible is only found in dictionary of stupid?

Who could tell before man can fly in the sky by flying machine (airplane), voyage and cross oceans by heavy metal ship and send the Robert and search water in the mar and moon.

But it is all possible just in front of eyes.

Do you think that are all Magics?

India has placed tight restrictions on the disputed border region of Kalapani, following a protest march by Nepali students to highlight Kathmandu's claim to the area, India's ambassador to Nepal, K.V. Rajan said Sunday.

"The area has always been restricted for foreigners. This time, however,
India restricts the gathering of a large number of people in the area," Rajan
told AFP.

"Political gatherings have been restricted."

Nepalese sources claim India troops have been stationed at Kalapani, an
arid mountainous region 415 kilometres (259 miles) northwest of here, since
the Indo-China war in 1962.

On Friday, about 60 members of the left-wing All Nepal National Free
Students' Union (AANFSU) marched on Kalapani, claiming the territory belonged
to Nepal and urging the removal of Indian soldiers there.

The Indian embassy said in a statement that New Delhi had no soldiers in
the area, but added that India's claim to Kalapani was "acknowledged by
successive British, Indian and Nepali governments."

"There is no Indian army at the border but there is only an Indo-Tibetan
Border Police post in the area," the statement said.

"However, India has now agreed to remove the Indian troops positioned (at
the border post) if it is proved that the land belongs to Nepal."

"Two meetings of the Joint Working Group on the boundary comprising of
experts working on historical facts has already taken place," it said.

Kalapani is on the juncture of Nepal's borders with Tibet and India.

The English daily The Kathmandu Post has reported that maps drawn by
British India in 1837, 1854 and 1905 "clearly shows that Kalapani lies inside
Nepal since the area is situated east of the Mahakali river, which lies at the
far western border of Nepal."

"Since then Indo-Nepal joint map has not been drawn," it said.

Punya Prasad Oli, a former director general of the department of land and
survey, also said maps prepared by India prove Kalapani belongs to Nepal.

The general secretary of the Nepal Communist Party-Marxist and Leninist Bam
Dev Gautam said his party was prepared to launch an "armed struggle" if
necessary to drive out the Indian troops, while the main opposition Nepal
Communist Party-United Marxist and Leninist described India's claim as "a
serious matter."

Hi all,

I thought this is one of the most useful/essential topic of discussion in sajha.com for solving/rethinking the age old dispute between India and Nepal. I am highlighting below some information and suggestions in this matter. If any fellow sajha member pass-on this message/information to relevant government authorities in Nepal through proper channel I will be very thankful to him bcoz it will benefit all of us.

As per international border practice Zero line between two countries are formed by border pillars which are in the form of Large Main Pillers (marked MPxxxx) separated by small subpillers (marked S1, S2, Sxx ?.). Along the alignment of Zero Line there is a no men?s land on both sides upto an agreed distance ( In case of India-Bangladesh border it is 150+Zero Line+150 yards) in which both the countries are not allowed to use this land for any military related and other strategic construction.

So my suggestion/advice is to take the advantage of latest technology of taking the positions of Main Pillars and subpillers using Electronic Total Station and GPS systems in the form of Coordinates (I hope we all know the coordinate geometry). This results into the fixing of firm and final Zero line between two countries. Above all it will never be possible to change this even if there is a change in topographical features of terrain (I think this is the best method). As far as expenditure in obtaining such coordinates is concern it is economically a very cheaper method (It costs around NR 15,000 to NR 20,000 per kilometers) as compared to construction of border fencing work. (I am not sure whether RNA is having these entire essential databases in the form of Longitude and Latitude)

It is also an acceptable fact that construction of fencing results into stopping cross border terrorism, smuggling, activities of anti-social elements and possession of other country?s land. The people living along such stretches will definitely realize the benefit of fencing. It will give good feeling among the population that their crop field, cattle & other belongings would be much safer then because of erection of fencing. But in practical a 'good' number of people would have to be evicted from the border villages to allow the fences to be put up and as such they need rehabilitation.

Also cost of construction of border fencing involves huge investment depending upon type of fencing we?ll construct which I think is not a practical solution for us bcoz of ongoing present economic condition of Nepal. Even yearly maintenance of such fencing structure cost us a lot.

I also want to know more about Indo-Nepal border agreement in future messages. Carry on????

No matter what No matter how costly.

Nepal must do secure border with India and flood of Indian population.

This time Nepal can fix border problem. Next decade or generation defiantly can not able to fix (1) border problem and (2) Indian population problems inside Nepal.

These major two problems is the most serious problem of Nepal.

Nepali government, Ambassadors, ministers, Leaders must think 100 times wisely on it.

well.... get somebody who is gonna spend on nepal's hydroelectricty.. then make dem dams in nepal.. produce electricity... and make profit out of it.. use the water for irrigation.. and make the farmers pay some amount of money from their profit they make after using the water from irrigation.. Yeah.. ITS GONNA COST ALOT OF MONEY.. but you are gonna be controlling the country's water resource to make money at the same time... if you really want dem indians to pay for it... Nepal will be controlling the water flow, so they wouldnt be able to produce as much electricity as now.. and you basically control it.. so.. who's gonna get ppl to invest.. ITS DAMN GOOD PROFIT....
