Who can be the morally cleanliest and politically wise leader of Nepal? I think Pashupati Shamser Ja Ba Ra can be the morally cleanliest and politically wise leader of Nepal. Do you think so? Does anybody have their pick and record.

I never heard or read of Lohani's involvement in the $1B scandal, which Testdirector wrote above. A $1B scandal in Nepal would surele be a mother of all scandals and I am never got to read or hear about it. Testdirector shed some light on it. Makune's name seems clean as well, but I doubt he has what it takes to lead a country. He was in the forefront in opposition, but when the UML was in power he stayed in the background supposedly being a party whip as opposed to coming to the fore to lead.

bhadgaule, It was during the Panchayat era when Lokendra was the prime minister for the first time. I guess in 2040 or so. Prakash wanted to take a loan of $1B from the World Bank (??)and invest in private sectors and pay interest using the profits. Back then $1 = current $2. This is a big fraud against the country whatever way you want to look at it... you cannot use the country as a collateral for profit oriented business (aka money-laundering) in the first place. Nobody knew it when the news was flashed by the then BBC broadcast (there was no such thing as computers or Internet back then for the common people). I was a kid myself but looking at my father's face I reckoned it was a fraud. Then Prakash said it was just a proposal nothing real ... The loan was not granted with a clarification from the World Bank. Prakash as such is rich now and was so back then, so did not play with tiny tunas .. he needed a bigger fish to attach his name with. Bribe was a fashion back then. Why I'd choose Pashupati .. the real reason is he must have been hurt during the current royal massacre and seems like he has some sort of determination deep inside to do something for the country .. do not know.... just my observations.

Dr. Prakash C. Lohani, anyone who lived in Nepal during the Lokendra Bdr and then Surya Bdr's reign after the King took over, knows very well that Dr. Lohani's wife was very interested in brokering deals. Putting his acedemic credentials just can't make him clean.

ow about Prakash Chandra Lohani. I have not heard of his name being smeared with any scandals. He is an experienced politician, handled number of ministries in the past, Ph. D. from UCLA at the age of 24 (at that time, youngest person to ever get a PHD in the University's history), his work published by Univ. of Chicago. My two cents. Oh, really. I heard that his wife Mridula was known as Ms. 10% when prakashchandra was finance mininster. Like Benazir's hubby was known as Mr. 10%. "Ph. D. from UCLA at the age of 24 (at that time, youngest person to ever get a PHD in the University's history)" -oh Really! he is a record holder

damn.... all nepal needs is a person who thinks like white american (EMPLOYER) and does american way... Gotta bump up the economy and i know what people really want.. either its a good person or bad person, according to society's definition (i could talk out with people and make them choose what they really want, thanks to psychology and the description of the "FACT") ...... you could check that out in the book i am going to write.... i dont know when..... and acting like white american (EMPLOYER)... and i have the capability.. and i can prove it too;)... been doing it.... and i have been able to figure out how they think, working with them... Aight, so a smart leader, nice negotiator, a businessman, and HELPER... i would be able to DO it..... I really wanna retire there and chill...

If anyone can provide a proof that i)Mr Prakash Lohni did PhD from UCLA(with the name of the department) ii)He did it at 24 iii) That 24 is the record for PhD from UCLA I will be very grateful. Because so far as I know, he didn't have PhD from UCLA, but from another relatively obscure school in CA. I just want confirmation.

I once saw the interview of Dr Lohani. He looks very professional and well informed. He can be a good leader by far than Pasupati. But I dont know about his corruption scandal. I guess corruption is a second nature in leaders. If even educated people acknowledges corrupted and miserable leaders like Makune, Bam Dev, Girja and Mao, Dr. Lohani is a capable leader with wide experience.

salambambi, Parkash is experienced on bribe not in politics. If you compare to Makune, Bam Dev, Girja and Mao with parkash , you are fail to understand politics. DO you know about parkash and his past? coz when he was minister on panchayati regime, news never come out from singha durbar like when girija or makune were on government. if you think parkash is experience stand him with bam dev (other (he is not clean poltician) are more experience than bam dev) and you can see "को कति पानि मा" . PSJBR is "भिर बाट लडन् लगेको गोरु." now but once a time he was a more "चनडाल" than paras and still some of his supporter do same thing on sindhu palchock.

sajhabusaima dude did you seriously in panchayat news didn't come out from so called singhaaaaaa durbar because there were honest men then? if you do open your eyes and see why people wanted democracy. Oviously now the news comes out cause people know government aren't their ruler but merly their servant. so nepalese didn't had to get scared of getting murdered by Girija or Deuba to leak the news about them and please do some studying before you comment as long as i have known Madhav Kumar Nepal had never lead an government. peace out

mampaka, If you want to find out about Dr.Lohani's PhD thesis, please go to the following UCLA Anderson school site: http://www.anderson.ucla.edu/x841.xml Do a search. I certainly believe that Dr. Lohani has the qualification and experience to lead Nepal. I would challenge mamphaka do to something actionable to bring about changes in Nepal rather than smearing dirt on people with his incompetent writing! Cheers!

Considering vision, commitment, honesty, and popularity, I can not see anyone as suitable as this man. Here comes Narahari Acharya, the visionary, also the santaan of Bhanubhakta Acharya! However, one problem with him is that he is not mass-based and if you meet him face2face, he kinda appears rude and "thaado".
