Hello amriju, My understanding of getting an appointment in US Embassy is as follows: 1. Fill up the DS-160 and submit online. 2. Take the completed DS-160 to NIBL and pay the visa interview fee. 3. Take the receipt from NIBL and go to US embassy website and reserve the interview date. How did you do step 2 without going to Nepal? Can you tell us? NE_Pats

NE_Pats , 1) FILL DS-160, AND note your application ID -->you can submit photo, validate in this same application as well. 2) Visit this website : http://www.ustraveldocs.com/np/ and create account, put the application ID here. after completing, this will generate Receipt Num:,, (this is little tricky here-- follow the payment option, it will show cash.. click on that "CASH".. one new screen comes showing same receipt number as CGA number I believe..print this out, and ask someone to pay in nepal. it will have expiry date. just incase if payment gets delay after expiry date, come back and click the same cash, it will extend the date.. 3) after few hours, your infomration wll be update, and ready to schedule appointment.
FYI: You do not need to take DS-160 anywhere. Not even during interview. You will get confirmation that you filed DS-160 with some barcode, That needs to be taken.

Once you complete ds 160 you get a confirmation with some barcode.. You need this confirmation and copy of your passport to pay. Yes anyone with above can go and pay for you.

Hi, I have a quick inquiry, I made the payment and went to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/np for scheduling an appointment and I am in the step 8: please enter MRP receipt information, receipt number and all other necessary information is already populated and on the left side it is showing First Available Appointment is Friday January 9, 2015. If I click continue will that date be selected or it will display other dates too. I don't want to select Jan 9, 2015 date.

Sent: Tuesday, January 26, 2010 10:47 PM To: Consular, Mailbox (ConsKTM) Cc: US_Embassy_Kathmandu, Internet_Contact Subject: H1-B Visa Stamping Hello and Namaste, I am coming to Nepal next week for my H1-B Visa Stamping. Currently, I am working for a client - XXXXXXXXXXX, and my presence here is very critical as we are in the phase of production move in early March. I just have over 2 weeks of vacation. I am an employee of XXXXXXXX. I have attached a copy of my H1-B approval. Is there a way I can get an interview date over a web or even on the phone for my H1-B visa? I looked the embassy website, but was unable to find any useful resources. Also, if you could please forward this to necessary personal/department to update my information on the system to expedite the process. Is there anything that I could do on my part to make the process smooth and less time consuming? Please feel free to contact for any further information or concerns. Your timely and helpful reply is highly appreciated. Thank you. All, One more information that I found which might be helpful for all the people going back to Nepal for vacation. CBP is making i-94 paperless and you need to make sure that all the information CBP officer has entered in the data base is accurate else it might get you in trouble. You can check your recent I-94 information in this site: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html;jsessionid=52bySK1JKSpbh45VvZYpTFGLzcqpGy5FntS89PTjy1Kp2MSF6Nyr!-1588311864 And I am taking this article as a reference : http://www.h1bwiki.com/i94-paper-copy-usa-cbp/ Regards, NE_Pats

Yup. Sorry my bad. After you land then you need to check and verify the information. And if your information is not correct then you need to ask CBP officer to fix it.

Would this sentence be correct.. After you land, talked with the CBP officer, try to get the i94 online from the website, and see the information is correct ? https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html;jsessionid=52bySK1JKSpbh45VvZYpTFGLzcqpGy5FntS89PTjy1Kp2MSF6Nyr!-1588311864
