Open Letter to the Top Five Most Respected Men in Sajha,

Dai haru, Hajur lai Namaskar.

Who are the top five most respected men in sajha? If the top five most respected men in sajha can assure us that anytime a woman is put down in sajha that they will speak up, Rasika and I will stop what we have been doing in sajha immediately.

I'm not sure who the most respected men in sajha are. But sirs, if you will agree to speak up any time a woman is put down in sajha, Rasika and I are ready to be law abiding citizens again. We have no intention of causing more trouble than we need to. But we are not going to tolerate being kicked around by the men in sajha.

Rasika Kanchhi and I would like to negotiate a peace process with the Five of you please.

We apologize for the trouble we might have caused. We just didn't see any other way around it. Sorry,
Mridula Devi and Rasika Kancchi

I do not consider myself one of the top 5 respected men in sajha yet I would like to put in my two words here.

Without rambling too much, I would like to say that you are allowed to express your opinions within the boundary of sajha rules which forbid showing disrespect to individuals.

People are allowed to voice thier concerns regarding religion as a whole or the males or females as an entity as long as they are not using foul language or picking out few individuals to accuse them of certain stereotypes. Male are female issues is a very broad topic of discussion and men should not feel insecure about few women's opinons.

Many times there have been topics that dealt with Nepali girls/women as a whole and those seemed to have been all fine and good. So there is no reason why Nepali men cannot be discussed, or why a female user cannot express her opinions about Nepali males in general about what she thinks about them.

Women have been dominated by the males in most aspects of Nepali lives in Nepali society when the fact of nature is that each one of them deserve equal respect as human beings. Perhaps one is stronger than the other and the other is good in different things. But there is no reason why one needs to be scorned or disrespected by default.

Most of us interacting in sajha are from educated backgrounds who would not be using derogatory or foul language to women in public. So there is no reason you should use the anonymity provided by sajha to use foul derogatory language against women using an anonymous username. In sajha you are expected to behave as you do in a normal environment in the world outside, in public.

So in summary:
  • Women or men both are equally allowed to express their opinions about each other or stereotype each other according to their own experiences
  • As long as they both do not use any foul words, foul language or offense towards a particular individual(s) personally
PS: you don't have to be a respected sajha man to be able to graciously handle or show common respect towards women's opinions of men. (or vice versa)

PSS: I would like to urge respected sajha members to not vote down or thumbs down posts using different usernames simply because they do not agree with a post

PSSS: On a lighter note, most web analytics have shown that there is a large amount of single males in sajha. Hence it is good to see female participation in sajha. In my opinion female participation is to be encouraged than discouraged since who knows with the increased participation of females, it might be easier for some single men to find the right person here in/via sajha.

I don't know how long I have been here (maybe somewhere between 6 months and a year), but the whole time I've been here I haven't seen anyone trying to supress a female voice. There were some people like Nas who talked foul about females; but Mridula or whatever kanchhi, if you ask me if I have seen somebody supressing a female, my answer will be a NO. If you were supressed back in time, this is not the time to take revenge by talking crap about males. That won't gain you any respect (Proof? go once more through those outrageous responses on your threads from males; and there are regular female users on sajha but they didn't even bother to write on your thread, let alone supporting your anti-male campaign. why? you know the answer.)

"But sirs, if you will agree to speak up any time a woman is put down in sajha, Rasika and I are ready to be law abiding citizens again." -
everyone will support a user who says good/right things. but if you start talking trash like you've been doing recently, nomatter what gender you are, you'll get bad responses. and btw, there is no such thing called 5 most respected men in sajha. sajha is sajha of all and everyone is equal as san dai said. if you want to be treated well, learn to treat others in the same way. rasika kanchi becomes active all of a sudden after some 420 days and starts demeaning males, recruits mridula and starts "mahila morcha"; for what? respect? well, you got some good and "respectful" responses, didn't you?  like you said, nobody likes to get kicked around. so, stay in your limit and people will automatically start treating you well.

Jantarei,

While I agree with some of the things you said, the idea that everyone is equal is very silly and untrue. Equality is an ideal that has never been realized in any society, including in sajha. Hierarchy and culture are ever present in all societies always. No society of people are exception to this.

Albert Einstein:
"As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality."

i don't know and don't care about others but i believe in equality and treat everyone in the same way regardless of age/sex/social background, etc. but if you yourself believe that "...the idea that everyone is equal is very silly and untrue. Equality is an ideal that has never been realized in any society, including in sajha. Hierarchy and culture are ever present in all societies always. No society of people are exception to this. " what are you trying to show? that you can change things all of a sudden just like that? well, good luck with that lady.

Jantarei,

What is there to prove?

Men have their strengths that women don't have. Women have their strengths that men don't have.

It is true that there are certain strengths that they both share.

If nature had wanted men and women to be equal, it would have made us plants.

Rasika Kancha,

I have been a silent spectator of your BS in sajha for quiet sometime now. In sajha, every poster with a specific idealism such as Maoism, Khaoism, Monarchy, Capitalists,Socialist or Fascist have been scruitnized with  views of many other posters because it is a forum of opinions. I have been noticing that like many other feminists you are too quick to defend your light ideals with the sheild of feminism as soon as some one does not agree to your point. Rather, in most cases, you shield yourself in your precious feminist shell before you get any comments from others.

As what San was saying " Women or men both are equally allowed to express their opinions about each other or stereotype each other according to their own experiences" feel free to express your opinion as you have experienced it and also let men express theirs as they have experienced.

Rasika and Mridula

Before replying to my post read it completely and address the issues that i am asking for. Just don't be an one liner saying "wah kya funda cha".

I just don't understand, why are you crying for so called support and for whom?
Is it for you, for whole women race or just nepalese women for whom? and what kind of support you are seeking here in sajha?
Can you be more specific?did any man phsyscially threaten you? abused you ? tried to take advantage of you? what? If they did, there action can't be justified and one behalf of those people i ask
an appolgy. Not all men are the same, there are always good and bad people exist in this world.

We men always have sympathy and respect toward women. If some men don't act in the way the most of others do then you can't do anything about it. there are like that way, and they can't be changed
at all.but based on those few people marking the whole men race is WRONG and that's what you are doing over here.

From your post,it seems like that you are asking to agree with you completely without thinking about the other part of the story. I would be more than happy to support anyone who brings a legimate issue without creating too much controversy, but it seems that you came here sajha
just to fight with people and trying to let them down forgetting that there would be always good and bad PEOPLE(BOTH MEN AND WOMEN), and you can't generalize the whole race based on just few
observations.

I don't know what you had faced in your personal life but if you're really troubled with those kind of situation you are always welcome here to share it and then see whether nepalese men will
stand up. I can bet my last dollar most of our sajhatinas will. Bring some issue that is a legimate, ethical and doesn't based on just few generalization.

So dear rasika and mridula, now tell us what your actual issue is? what you need here?

and be specfic this time and i promise everyone will support you, we don't have to be a respectful man to support a valid cause.

San dai

Whatever you said, agreed with you on each word but do you really think these two gals/boys are talking about something that makes a point, for me it seems that all they want is to create a controversy.

No one will try to supress her voice if she stop commenting and acting like an idiot.
