Hello Everyone,

I am having problem with Udus in my apartment. In my Bed and in my sofa there are so many Udus. I have tried to find the some kind of chemical spray or any other medicine to control Udus but still unable to find the one that will be really effective and kill the Udus in my apt.

By the way what is called Udus in English? If anyone knows how to control this Udus Please let me know.

I think its called "Bed Bug". In villages people use kerosine.

.perhaps Ritthe was talking about state environmental laws...state like CA has stringent laws that forbid use of bug killer/pesticide   that may not be environment friendly ( i donno whats environment friendly btw). So you may not get same stuff all over the places. Its better to google or ask the people in the local stores. Hope i was following the thread.

Few days ago, I listened a NPR program on bed-bug, the news is a bit scary.

Bed bugs were eliminated in around 1960s in USA as a result of excessive use of DDT. But DDT is now banned for its many reported side effects. Unfortunately the bed bugs started to appear again around a decade ago and since then it is spreading at exponential rate.

There are no any known chemicals/pesticides (permissible to use) that can really kill bed bugs. They spread out from used furnitures, so be careful if anyone offering you used furnitures, that may be the source of bed bugs and keep ever expanding in your rest of the furnitures.

The bed bugs are nucturnal, and can survive several months without any foods. In the NPR program, they even told that the only way of getting rid of bed bug is to destroy the furniture permanenty (if possible put them in fire).

I think Rachel Carson book ‘Silent Spring’ was instrumental for the drive against DDT. Anyway this may not be the answer for the thread-breaker, and i hope she/he has the right one.

Like daZ said kerosene is one of the effective means to control the bed bugs. you spray it in all the corners and crevices . Baygon spray is equally effective but I do not know if you can use it there

Go to Wal mart, get a shit called RID - A - BUG, spray it all over the places and gone.

It may work with boric acid. It does not hurt to try.

A bug spray called 'RAID" works to scare it but not kill it. For some relief, u can use that.

Actually I am getting trouble with bed bug can we confirm how they develop? I think there are not. Proper solution for bedbug. Just everybody joking about the topic here I am trying to remove them.

You can bring Bedbugs 5 star hotel to your home/apartment. If one apartment has bedbugs , you will get it sooner or later.

i suggest to buy one empty spray bottle and bunch of rubbing alcohol.
and start spraying all over your place bed, couch, carpet make it rain.
light a scented candle so it overcome the scent of alcohol.
do this every bottle every day and do not forget to vacuum every day.
this worked for me.
