Hey guys and girls, It has been more then 10 years since I read Shri Swastani. I used to read it to my mother (aamaa), coz she could not read. And I am not lying to you guys when I confess this, ever time I read the part where sati died and Mahadev walked with Sati’s body in his shoulder and walked the earth for ever and ever, I just could not hold out my tears, and I used to cry. I cried every year when I read that part, and felt so bad.

I remember the part that Sati’s father (the King) humiliated Mahadev coz he had no “Gotra” (Cast), and he could not marry Sati even though they loved each other, and Sati died instead of marrying Vishnu or something like that. Since then I have always hated this cast system, and though it is a lame thing.

I really want to read it again, is there anywhere, where you can read it online?? Or download it??

My question is why do we worship shiva's linga and not say Ram's LInga, Krishna's Linga or Brahma's Linga or Vishnu's linga. Why only shiva's linga?

Hey Gurudev, as far as I can remember, Sati did married Shiva with out her father’s approval. Her father wanted her to marry Vishnu. It was after their marriage that during a Yaga(sorry miss spelled) her father humiliated Shiva and it was then she died. And yes Devi Parvati is the re-incarnation of Sati Dev per Swastani.

Because, it is one the ling of the god of the gods. Shiva is considered as the divin ruler. His dancing statue where he has four legs and four hand explains the birth of the universe and the end of the universe.
That one statue tell everyhting about the creation of teh world and its secret. Even modern physics cannot explain it in such a broad way......
